  • this is one of the best lookling tele's

  • Andy - Whats your most favorite guitar to play?

  • oh my goulash i just soiled myself for that GOLD tele

  • 1:20 "60105 frets," damn.

  • Great demo !

  • The good news is they are only $5-6000, so every musician can try one, not just rich wanking assholes.

  • Im so hot for her

  • @Guitarstring187 me too especially at 2:50 :-)

  • That is seriously the sexiest damn tele I've ever seen

  • hey what would the majority of you guys at PGS think is the best and most versitile overdrive pedal.

  • @stratquebec - We use a Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue in most videos. It's off-screen in a booth. The amp behind Andy is a Fender Custom Shop 57 Deluxe, which is not being used in this video. Just a video prop. Thanks!

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos

Ok! Many thanks! Sorry for the double post.

Cheers to Andy! He makes anything sound great anyway!

  • She was an American Tele

  • PGS are utterly perfect...:D o.o

...Oh wait... they messed the A in Masterbuilt... Nobody is perfect :( xD

F*ck me, Andy is good at demoing theses things. Astonishing taste, versatility and most importantly with taste that doesn't annoy or intimidate.

  • what's the song that starts at 1:52?

  • "Hey there again" how come he knows I've been watchin PGS vid all day ?

  • @arioz1 Lol!

  • is dat some Old Black Dawning?

  • How would this guitar handle genres such as alt rock, hard rock, and grunge?

  • @bobs146 Forget it - Telecasters only play country music. The knobs fall off as soon as you try anything else on them (just kidding :-)

  • FRANK BLACK!!!! Nice one Andy. Are you a fan?

  • ...she's so COOOLD!!!!

  • Marie Ybarra pickups.. Seems like the masterbuilders love those pickups, several of the guitars Andy has demo'd lately have 'em. Can anyone shed a little light on these pick-ups? I hadn't heard of them before PGS.

  • @TwoBucksShy her name is Abigale ybarra and she's been winding for 50 years, she works at the fender custom shop,

  • Please send it to me for free, if you wouldn't mind.

  • Whhooaaa SWEET!!!!

  • sounds great :P

but all those guitars are sooooooo expensive :O

  • Wow sounds great! =) Might wanna keep that one for yourself Andy =P

  • Love the Roy B volume swells at the end great sounding tele.I like teles now!!!

  • Is the DRRI stock? What upgrades do you guys have on the amp? I have a DRRI but it just doesn't sound that good... Thanks

  • @crnadawg - We've upgraded from stock tubes, and we switch them out a lot to keep them fresh. That makes a significant difference. Thanks for watching!

    -PGS

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos hey andy what tubes do you use?

  • @guslopez12 - Lately we've been using Tube Amp Doctor sets in Andy's Deluxe.

  • That Tele sounds amazing if only masterbuilts weren't so expensive

  • thanks for letting us know about the Gear used !!

  • @metalrocker68 I'd be smiling non-stop all day long if had his job

  • American Girl sounds so good on that tele!

  • Nice Petty intro!

  • I can't believe they burnt the headstock.

  • @Testacabeza they should hang the dude who did it

  • @Testacabeza Not that far but if you smoke then you can't make the mark yourself and if you don't smoke it's already there!

  • That slick country shred in the intro impressed me.Good job Andy.

  • Wow, nice sounding "stratish" neck pup. Where can i buy me one of these?

  • omg!!!!!!!!!!! me want

  • Look at him work that volume knob! Go, Andy!

Also, it's great to see the gear listed. Keep that up!

  • Damn that's better tone than Petty gets on that song. Oooo I like that you are listing pedals used during riffs. Damn some sick freaking riffs in this video. I believe @ninjascience is right on who is gonna buy these. However it's still not going to be like playing a real beat up vintage. There is an energy about vintage guitars, where you can tell the battle scars are that the guitar you hold has seen blood sweat and tears. I'd rather have a guitar that's seen thousands of gigs than none.

    '

  • Holy Shit... THE PLAYING

  • holy sh*t... THE SOUND

  • i dig relics man, but i love real vintage feel

relics get close though but nothin beats a good 40 years

  • Fantastic playing when showing the bridge pickup. That was sweet.

  • haha they put a cigarette burn on! Why don't they soak the guitar in beer too so that it's nice and sticky. This whole 'relic' trend is pretty silly. Hand me your guitar and I'll 'relic' it (drop it down a concrete staircase) for free.

  • what a great sounding guitar

  • Somebody put out a cig on that head stock man. That aint reliced, it's just mean.

  • @evildemonllama it was totally from that bar fight back when you first started giging right. I think people with these relic guitars should be required to come up with a reason for every scratch. Relic guitars make me sad.

  • @LainOfTheRealWorld Could not agree MORE. It's absolutely absurd. We have to vote with our wallets people - as long as daddy's little rich kids keep buying them, we're going to have to put up with these phony-baloney "relics". Real relics aren't just beat up (or burned, in this case)... they smell like a bar, they have grime embedded everywhere... these are just fake.

  • @moucon i dont get why people would SPEND the money on this, when they could buy a 2010 fender american, and wait until it becomes vintage!?

  • @GarettStilwellMusic some guys are just too rich for their own good and want the worn in sound straight away. i'd personally do what you said and buy the 2010 and then wait for it to develop over time

  • @GarettStilwellMusic - Firstly, there's a big ass difference between a handmade Fender Masterbuilt and an American Standard that's been mass-produced on a CNC machine. BIG difference, in quality and options. Secondly, "daddy's little rich kid" isn't buying a relic, daddy is. Lawyers and corporate executives buy relics for investment and collecting purposes, not for playing. The majority of relics will never see a gig. Fender doesn't care what you think, because you are not the target market.

  • @ninjascience Beautifully explained. It's like a piece of art which becomes valuable with time. Thank you for this explanation.

  • @rootvalue Whether it becomes more valuable with time remains to be seen. I'll meet you back here in 30 years - IMO "relics" will be shunned by serious collectors. Collectors want rare instruments with PROVENANCE . The banged -up guitar Billie Joe Armstrong plays today will gain value because it was part of history... Otherwise collectors want mint condition and original parts. The guitar beat up by a dog chain -wire brush at the Fender factory will be a joke in 30 yrs, just as it is now.

  • @ninjascience Baloney. That's just mis-informed. I'm betting NO serious collector will want a guitar that is machine distressed. EVERY serious collector I know (and I'm talking guys who routinely drop 6-figures on vintage guitars) think relics are a joke and will become bigger jokes with time. They'll want instruments built now that were well-played. A nick caused by Billie Joe Armstrong banging a mike stand might have future value.. a nick caused by a machine in a factory - EPIC FAIL.

  • @moucon - That's a bold statement to make to someone you don't know. As it happens I'm a music industry professional. Selling these guitars is my business, and has been for upwards of 10 years now. In fact, collectors are pretty much the only people that buy relics, and our most active clients buy 7-10 Custom Shop guitars a year, with at least half of those being relics. And by the way, they're not distressed by a machine at a factory. Relic'ing is done by hand by the guys at the Custom Shop.

  • @LainOfTheRealWorld I'll have to admit though, the broken in feel is amazing. I played some of the fender road worn series and they were pretty comfortable.

  • OMG , that sounds good .

  • you can tell when Andy really digs a guitar by his playing

  • If this is a '57 relic wouldnt the neck radius be 7 1/4"? I thought that was what Fender did back in the day.

  • @cortezandthekillers looks and sounds of a 57 but modern features to make it play a little better.

  • atthe begining it was like listening to the record

  • Old Black Dawning. Gotta play some Frank with a Tele in hand.

  • i still dont understand how you strum and pick strings

  • that little smile @ 4:40 made my day.

  • SO MUCH WANT!!!

Of Andy's chops I mean. Woodsheding time...

  • The best Tele I've ever heart!

  • Damn Andy, you reallyhave the damn best job in the world.

  • sweeeetttt

  • godddddd incredible tone

  • Where do you get these pickups

  • @Taygoo15 They come with the guitar. ;)

  • that blues jam with delay was phenomenal! sounds great

  • Andy do you ever just bomb a take on one of these videos and have to re film it?

  • well she was an american girl, raised on promises !

  • dibs this guitar
