It would be awesome if Magic Mirror Games (or any of the other remake teams) remade King's Quest: Mask of Eternity into an adventure game. They could even use the voice files instead of doing the acting themselves to save time!

Very happy to see this game recreated as the original 3 were before it.

Although...this one wasn't as horrific as the first 3 in terms of controls/interaction. The first few with there text interface....at least this one you could pause the game and think while you type

I think it was something like: 'It'll be done when it's done'.

That's how it is for most fan remakes: It's better to put a lot of love in it, and not worry about when it's complete.

Worst case scenario: If it does get abandoned, another group may pick it up, or the source may be posted publicly to be learned upon and/or worked with.

I think people were asked in the past... can't remember who or when now as it seems ages ago, but basically people are mostly busy with their own projects.

As far as i remember, all basic backgrounds are done, intro is basically done... few sprites done... some music is done...

but about 99% of sprites remain to be done, hah!

Oh it'll take a long long while to come out, is my guess!

But there is a playable demo planned, which will be ready sooner...

Again, we can't guess a date because the work is a bit stop and start, and we just do it whenever we can fit it in, and there isn't that many people involved!

As for KQ II remake... i know it's out there somewhere, made by Tierra(now AGD)i think?

Again, my opinion...but...it's too modern for her to be wearing Red lipstick and Purple eyeshadow. She doesn't have to be boring or ugly though...just different...In my opinion, it's the wrong look for that game. She is a natural beauty...she doesn't need makeup. Let her natural beauty shine through. I could never be that good at art but it's the wrong look. At least they got the hairstyle right.

Um, last time I checked Rosella never or hardly ever wears makeup. I don't hate it but in my opinion it's just not Rosella's "thing"/"style" to wear makeup...especially to her lips done up in Red and have Purple eyeshadow on.

She's supposed to look like a peasant during the game...not "dressed up to go to the festival" or whatever....looks like she decided to go for a mix of "princess" and peasant...

I think they said that they were busy with other things at the time.. it was a while ago though, so i don't remember properly.

I think AGD was doing QFG2 remake and might be doing something else next now(not sure?), and I.F are doing SQ2 remake and another project(?), though i would have liked any help we can get hahaha

I'd say we definitely need more help of talented people to get this finished.

Ahhh, my second favorite King's Quest game, after King's Quest V. I'm replaying all the King Quest games right now. Actually, imo the sequence with the ghosts in the manor at night is one of the best single sequences in any game that I've played. I love the text interface and the original will always be one of my favorite games, but it's nice to see the upgraded graphics too! I've enjoyed the previous King's Quest remakes, and I'm sure you guys will do a good job on this one.

Oh it's really hard to tell for the game in full, what with a tiny team and everyone's own life stuff taking up most of the time...

But, hopefully, the playable DEMO should be done soon. Don't really want to get anyone's hopes up by promising a time, but.. maybe in 2-3 months? I'd hope it to be less but it depends on how much time people have available to do things, and if we get any problems.

I was able to play my copy of KQIV EGA because I knew ONE of the correct words is "Graham". The game is sold with a lengthy typed backstory in a booklet. Before you can play the original game you must enter a single word from that booklet. If "Graham" is not the answer to the question I just keep restarting the game until the question with that answer pops up!

Looks like great progress! Just watch out for those treadmill walks on solid ground. Likely you slowed down the minstrel so he could read out the credits, but Rossie might have been going a little too fast for her footsteps. Art and Music are very nice though.

I'm looking forward to the last KQVGA conversion; here's hoping you have time and patients enough to cast for voices and enhance the plot/dialog some, cause those touches can make it ten times better. Take your time though.

Thanks for the comment. I'm sure all that stuff will be adjusted before the final version. I'm going to insist on us having a in house playthrough before release seeing as I thought Infamous Adventures did a poor thing when they made the players help them debug it. We are doing both actually. The original version with updates will be released first possibly with voices and then we'll work on a Plus version to fix some of the loose ends and unanswered questions of the original.
