I removed the pickguard. It was getting scratched and i decided to keep it in good condition by taking it off. A pick doesnt effect the guitar's paint job. Its the same color as the other gretsch pickguards.
I was wondering if you were able to put p-90s on it. I think it wold look cool. If you ever see a red pro jet, get it while you can. They are very rare.
Yours looks great, if I see a red one I will try to get it. The P-90 fits with just a *tiny* bit of room to spare. The only problem that I had was that the P-90 screws would not reach the bottom of the hole so I had to screw another piece of wood to the inside of the body to attach the pickup to. Not a big issue, really.

I have a black one that I also got on ebay but I like the red! I really like it! I'm a little jealous...
The only thing I wasn't happy with on mine was the neck pickup so I replaced it with a P-90, now I love it.
