hey, is it possible to not only link the KP3 with the K-PRO, but to also after they are linked use the K-pro as a midi controller for a desktop synth module or a rack synth module such as the ROLAND JP 8080? if so, is there a way (perhaps a mixer) to not only use the K-PRO as just for a midi controller, but also to use the effects and sample banks of the KP3 along with the sounds from the rack synth mod engine to sound the 3 units together without a midi keyboard?

KP3 is meant for live performances that might require vocal manipulation, whereas the PRO is a synth so it doesn't manipulate any external sound, it makes its own programmed sounds.

@BeatboX4Life15 Make sure the input level is turned up enough so the kp3 is picking up the sound. Also what have you got it plugged into for playback. If your using the rca connections try plugging in headphones and seeing if you can hear the sound

@azrulmlk86 In the manual it says that SDHC cards are not supported. Only SD cards up to 2GB. I had the same problem and had to return the SDHC card I just bought for a SD card instead.

Very informative, thanks a lot! I think I will use my good old Quasimidi Raven for most of the sounds (playing its keyboard), a microphone for vocal stuff and recording acoustic instruments - and then the KP3. I actually wanted to save some money, but I think the money on the KP3 I must consider spent already. ;D

@medusasworldofstone if you already have sound production equipment with audio out, the kp3 may give you a bit more flexibility with the effects. If not the kaoscillator can be used as an instrument/looper on its own.

I can answer some questions.

1) the kaossilator has many presets

2) the kaossilator can do many interesting effects to the output but the KP3 is simply geared more towards that

3) no you do not need both. Think of the Kaossilator as a live synth for your performances that has looping capabilities and the KP3 as a looper with alot of dynamic modification possibilities.

i went into a guitar center one time, and they were callin me tiesto over the loud speaker when i was mixing this with the korg board, it was sweet lol, dont have the money, but will try to get the blue one, i learned it quite fast from messing with it and it was easy to get a sample loop goin and going between different drum loops fluently, i was sold, but dont got the money yet lol.

@mcrulez13 There is a selection of effects on the KOPro, but not nearly as many as on the KP3. Yes, you can use it with a DJ mixer, and since it has RCA inputs and outputs, connection should be very easy.

How many Korg items can you hook together, for example a Korg MicroKorg with a Korg Micro Sampler plus a Korg Kaisilator, and maybe even a Korg Electribe MX and into a studio type bundle. With the kaossilator pro, say your on 16 beat recording mode, can you record something thats 2 beats and have it loopl to 16 beats so you can still record 16 beats of something else? say all i need is a simple bass drum for the drum loop but i want 16 beats of synth, do i have to hold the simply bass drum loop for the whole 16 beats?

@deroevis You don't even need a computer. The only thing you'll need is a destination for the audio outputs... This could be an amplifier, powered speakers, headphones, a computer, or many other things.
