@89Mokoloko Génial! Malheureusement je n'ai pas pu toucher à ma guitare pendant le temps des fêtes.... Je m'y remet et je fait un autre vidéo dans 2 semaines! :-)
Just saying, there are real guitars the size of the power gig guitar. The local music store has 2-3 Stratocasters that size that are actually pretty decent
A buddy who doesn't play guitar got this bundle for Christmas. I myself do play and am interested because it appeals to me. On question I have to ask though; did you have to get the guitar set up? my buddy's was horrible, but once I ironed it all out, I really dug the guitar.
So I already own an Epiphone Junior model. I bought it as my first guitar. But is there anyways I can buy just the game and the cable. Basically I'm wanting to use the guitar that I already have. Instead of spending $200 and having two of the same guitars.
@IzRigiDDzI Yes of course. As mentioned in the video, the game works with any electric guitar you may own. There is a kit that's only the wire and the game that runs for about 70$.
@codfan66634 1st, learn to form an English sentence. 2nd, Epiphone makes fine guitars for beginners and even experienced players and the Les Paul Junior is no exception. The only bad thing about that guitar is that it only has a bridge pickup as opposed to a neck and bridge but thats not even that bad.
i have a question i have a real guitar and an amp cable already when i buy the game only do they give me the usb adapter? does it come with the game box only or a big box tht brings the cable with it?
@ElbigEmo There are 2 different bundles for the game. 1 comes with the game disc and the USB adapter. The other is the guitar bundle which contains the first bundle. I hope this helps :-)
@Popogagnon this is fucking awesome as fuck man !!!! i was searching for a game like this for years !!!! you said you got it for 175 $ ... i saw it on amazone for 275 $ ... where did you get it from man ?!?!?
i play this all the time. so much fun, and it has taught me TONS of new things to do with my guitar. i have improved my chord progression, scales, and tremelo picking. so yes, as a preson who has been playing guitar for 9 years, and to still improve using xbox 360 software is a testament to the developrs.
@gwarriorfromhell Thank you very much for the complimentary info! You should make a little demo video about what you mentioned here, I would link you as a video response :-D
Now i'm glad I didn't buy Power Gig, lol. Only thing is, i'm a lefty, so I have to get (hopefully for Christmas) a new guitar. I was in your same situation with " stopped, then I got back into it". The game looks awesome, and I really hope I get it for Christmas. And your unboxing was really good. I'd call it more of a review than an unboxing, but you don't know until you play it. Anyway, looks really cool, and you got me wanting this game. ;)
everyone that is probably the worst guitar u can get till u customize with new pickups i recommend if anyone has one wilikinson gibson style tuners, gibson p90 dog ear and new knobs
@Whatevernuke If you compare with the price of guitar lessons, it's still worth it to import both Rocksmith and an extra 360 ;-) Also, I heard rumours that 90% of PS3 games work worldwide, regardless of regions or formats. Might want to look into that :-)
@Popogagnon I just bought one right now, it should arrive at monday. Right now it's not getting a lot of attention but sooner people would realize that it can be a really good tool for learning guitar, instead of spending thousands of dollar for a tutor or something. But then again, it wont teach you the music theory and all, just the skill to play it. But then again it doesn't really matter, because music theory informations can be find in the internet; its the skill that requires a tutor
Ive been asking this just about everywhere....what do you think of the guitar itself? Im thinking they had to make a bunch of these for the game and may have cut corners to get em out quick . I was thinking of getting a Dean Vendetta xm instead at about the same price...which is also a bit more my style (metal) I just dont care for the finish on that one( Matte) So Im a bit undecided....
@Shadownian Keep in mind that I am a true beginner and have no knowledge that pertains to guitar quality. That said, 5 guys I know picked this up with me and all 5 guitars have been "guitaring" just fine. The only negative comment I heard was software related. He claimed that after tuning the guitar in-game he plugged it in an electronic tuner and it was still out of tune. How bad? He said "totally". Sounds right to me but what do I know :-)
@Popogagnon The tuning isnt a software problem. The Epiphones that come with the package are cheap in build. The tuners are really bad on that specific model. At the guitar center i tuned it up perfectly, 10 seconds later it was back to shit tuning. I am very happy that they actually put epiphones in the package. Its a REEEAALLLY good deal.
@Shadownian dumbass, they didnt make these guitars for the game, its an epiphone les paul special 2. shows how much you know, anyway, the only bad part is it cant stay in tune very well
The package is a good deal. The guitar isn't great but if its your first time attempting learn guitar who cares. Although, I wouldn't take lessons from rocksmith because I think it just gives you numbers for the frets and strings. Right?
Best part about the game is it's basically that you're just buying a guitar and getting the game for free. I've had a few Epiphone Les Paul Juniors and they're not half bad. Granted it's not a Standard or a Custom but they're still pretty damn good for the price they're selling you the game and guitar for. When I pick this game up, I'll probably end up modding the guitar and selling it cuz I've got a Les Paul Standard already but all in all, it's a pretty good deal
nice backstory man....I liked it..I thought the whole video was only the unboxing ><
oh, but you bet this isn't a good beginner guitar...it's a damn AWESOME guitar...Epiphone's a "sub-brand" of sorts of Gibson...that's all I need to tell you ^^
i hope they make as many games for this franchinseas they did with rockband,
i hope the game does well enougth to see games like metalsmith, or jazzsmith, classicalsmith or bluessmith hehehe bad ass loading times are horribly long other than that this game is awsome buy it
@Popogagnon I picked up that game! Picked it up yesterday! Wish they had a real Gibson Les Paul Jr. or Gibson Les Paul Studio! But, they have a Les Paul Epiphone Jr. Guitar like the one I saw at Sam Ash(Epiphone Les Paul Junior, that is)You think this game is gonna sell a million copies and is better than Guitar Hero?
@kjchicago1 I gotta be honnest: 1-It isn't much of a game. More like a collection of tools to learn guitar 2-I think it will fail. Not because of it's quality but because of price and the fact that music games just died. I support it and wish it all the best but my outlook on it is bleak. I encourage you to post videos of your progress report like I just started doing. Maybe it can help promote the game. We can only hope! :-)
You are all guitarded an epiphone les paul jr or gibson les paul jr are "full sized" they just have one pick up that is the only resone tgey call them jrs... I know what i am talking about with 2 and 3/4 years of resurching This stuff.
No there is the Les Paul Standard and the Les Paul Jr. The Jr is NOT a junior sized guitar, it is full adult size the junior has less pickups ect. For a fuller rock tune. This the reason Billie Joe Armstrong uses one.
@Popogagnon No, he means that an epiphone les Paul Jr. Is not an actual full blown electric guitar, it's a model. Notice it has just one pickup, one vol and one tone.
@MisterBlinkyTheGreat Here's what I mean: The name of the guitar is "Les Paul Jr.". Actually own a Stratocaster (a copy of course) and they're both the relative same size so I know it's full size :-)
@MisterBlinkyTheGreat, Les Paul Jr. are like that. They're legit guitars. Same with SG Juniors. Some people prefer them because when you have one pickup, you don't have to worry about the magnets in the other pickups to offset the tone.
Wow! I am liking the size of that guitar! I kinda had the same problem where schedules conflicted with me & my teacher. I'm going to be using this game as more of a refresher on things I've learned, and see if it teaches me some new tricks along the way.
Its not that bad what youre saying there, but one thing kinda hit me (as an actual guitarist).... I just wanna set things right you actually have to say the s because the guitar is named after a guitarist by the name of (you guessed it) Les Paul so please say the s next time
@bradr00lzd00d It's a no brainer. The guitar is ready to go, the software guides you through tuning. The only thing missing is a hand placement guide. You should be fine. If not, just look up a few YouTube videos for whatever you're missing.
The guys from Corridor Digital didn't learn that in a month, they actually played guitar from before they got the game. But don't let that give you second thoughts! It takes time learning an instrument, and it can be tough and a real pain in the ass, but there's nothing more fun than see how your'e building skills!
I play the guitar myself, got a Epiphone Les Paul Standard and a Gibson Les Paul Goldtop Traditional, and I can't wait to plug either one of'em in when the european release is out!
Actually, Les Paul is the stage name of (and sort of short for) Lester Polsfuss, the designer and creator of the Les Paul guitar. But the first time I saw it (back when Guitar Hero 3 came bundled with a 'Les Paul' controller), I thought it was French. :) And I'm actually kind of curious as for how that guitar sounds.
@zonavelha I will be adding the information I have on the songs (the ones printed on the back of the box) in the description shortly. Thank you for the kind words :-)
Thankyou for sharing! It's refreshing to hear a sceptic being convinced that it's a good game, compared to all the fans who were over-excited even before they got they're hands on it. Great review, and for me, thankyou for showing the box! I wanted to know how big it was before I got to the store so I can plan out how to get it home :3
@wolfthing11 Actually, I screwed up and didn't show some of the content. The guitar strap, the amp cable, the fret stickers, the guitar manual and the actual guitar box wasn't showed. I took a second to rectify that at the beginning of my unboxing video for "Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure - Starter Pack" which is uploading as I am writing these lines. Sorry about that but I hope you enjoy the other video as well :-)
