Nokia won't understand that if gives up Android OS they'll vanish, because if today you haven't iOS you have Android, and almost all Android users would be glad to choice a Nokia instead of Samsung or others (due to the good hardware). WP is simply unoriginal and useless in a pocket, but a CEO man (ex microsoft man) have already cleared his position and the Nokia's future seems to be uncertain.
Kudos to the team thats developing this. I wont be one sided I do love maemo to death the level of flexibility i think is unsurpassed by any other phone OS. But I should would love to boot Android on my N900.
@DJQwamii well ive uplaoded a newer video than this one with more info, currently bluetooth works, touch works internal storage can be mounted and the hw keyboard etc works, not much else to report as yet
@TheBigboySid because android one of the better mobile oses and its one of the quickest developing ones - winmo is older and more outdated than maemo and not open sourced either
Wow this is great work. Now the only thing we would love if you could do is, publish a documentation on how to do it on our N900s. Can you dual boot between andriod and maemo?
the touch screen is near enough perfect and the current speed is excellent, will be using a overclocked kernel before long courtesy of titan so will have a android build running at 800mhz or 1ghz. also the launcher is the standard one as that is the default one that gets compiled, launcher2 is av\ailable but i have not enabled it yet
me ajuda nao consigo instalar n900 o android

so is this actually something like a "native" port of android for the n900 or just a "proof of concept" thrown-together version?
murfad 1 year ago
@murfad it will be a native port once complete, hence the slow rate of dev

Making Espoo's latest poopoo less poo! :)
Now if only we could fix that resistive screen, although it does seem pretty responsive in this video...

Dude AWESOME WORK
I can't wait until someone uses this as an argument against android.
It will go something like this
"See this is another reason why android is terrible, you can use it on any hard ware. I can only use my Iphone OS on my iphone ipod and ipad."

Why does it have the old launcher if it's running 2.1-update1?
