@SKM6700 Beirut is a city. The capital of the country of Lebanon. Additionally it is very very safe. I am from the "western world", and have traveled to the beautiful city several times. Locals are very friendly towards westerners. Although some towns may be a little unwelcoming to outsiders, they are nowhere near Beirut and are not to be worried about.
