Since you are the Democratic Senate Leader, Conservatives in Nevada will vote against you no matter what you do or don't do. So how about appealing to Progressives in Nevada and put a public option in this bill. Then Democrats will gain confidence in you and maybe just maybe you'll be able to stay in office.
To Joe Lieberman: You are the only member of congress from Connecticut who does not support a public option. Chris Dodd, John Larson, Joe Courtney, Rosa Delauro, Jim Himes and Chris Murphy all support it. You claim that you work across party lines to get things done and yet you won't work with your own party to get this one thing done. You said in an interview with Katie Couric that America's House is being threatened by fire and you were right and that fire now is lack of health insurance
To Ben Nelson: Health Care is not legitimate by how many votes it has it's legitimate by weather or not it has a public option. and where did you come up with 65 votes? Progressives are fed up with congress because they are sick and tired of filibusters. The American people elected 60 Democratic Senators, 257 Democratic Representatives, and a Democratic President and they expect them to get something done.
To Max Baucus: In 1993 Senator Health Care Reform failed and the American people elected a Republican Congress if it fails again, they will do the same thing and you will lose your chairmanship of the Senate Finance Committee
Gerrymandering = no representation. The "I" think bill should not exist. It's the "We" think ammendment that should go forth. Up and Down protects the bullshit legislation proposed by special interest.
Lieberman has been pro-War and anti-Healthcare; he is not a progressive nor is he a true Democrat in spirit - Lieberman was beat in the Democratic primary by the voters and still ran; the people of Connecticut should boost him out and elect a true Democrat and progressive to represent their state and Lieberman should be stripped of all influence or positions of power in the Senate by the Majority Democrats - they don't need him. This will reduce his ability and make Conn realize their mistake.
Now we'll see what the most effective way of influencing legislators might be. Should we petition our grievances like good citizens or should we go in person to 'town hall' meetings, scream and disrupt proceedings like those on the right wing fringe.
I hope our way produces better results. I'll be waiting to see which way the legislators prefer.
