For all the Christians out there trying to defend the fact that Jesus is coming to non-believers, don't get too upset over it. By all means witness out of love, but don't jeopardize your walk with Christ. Think about it, there were naysayers in Jesus' time, and what did he do about it? He accomplished His mission. The Rapture WILL happen regardless of what ppl say and there's nothing that can be done about it. So why argue?

This movie has flashbacks within flashbacks -- hard to follow. These dudes are imprisoned in a church basement & there are flashbacks from it (the imprisonment doesn't happen until the end of the movie, but we start with them in prison. Then there are flashbacks withing flashbacks!

Jesus said the only unforgivable sin is the sin against the holy spirit, so if I accept some mark out of fear but afterward repent God still wont forgive me? @johnnykiki1 It is you that needs to provide biblical proof, there are many verses in the bible that mention the rapture but remain ambiguous about when it happens, conservative protestants twist the bible around and say that it happens before the tribulation when in fact there is no such verse that states this, it is likely that the rapture happens after the tribulation and after christs millenial reign on earth, but again there is no verse that specifically states this either

wow i believe that the church will go through the tribulation. and patty is what i believe what will happen to many who believe that the church will not go through the tribulation and find that they are left behind. i believe that that bible teaches that the first 3 1/2 years of the 7 year trib. is the wrath of satin on the church. and the last 3 1/2 years is the wrath of God on the earth. after the church is taken from the earth in the middle of the tribulation.

I think Patty is a tragic character. When I was younger I use to watch this movie and think, its was so simple, all she had to do was repent for her sins. But the more I watch it the more I realize thats what happens wen we constantly reject God. At some point, our hearts become hardened to Him. I guess thats why it says now is the time for salvation, not tomorrow, not wen we get older, but now....
Be prepared to face trial and tribulation without being raptured folks. "My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one." Jn 17:15 1 Thessalonians speaks of the resurrection happening BEFORE being caught up in the air. And in Jesus' day, to be "taken" (Matt 24) was to be taken in judgment like the Gestapo would take people in Nazi Germany. Christians are called to stay faithful in the face of evil. That's what the entire book of Rev. is about.
@prophetrev Do you believe that the "rapture" is not going to take the Christians out of here before the tribulation begins? I am very interested in others opinions on this because I am confused. My personal feelings lean towards the Christians going through the entire tribulation then Christ comes for them. It makes me think that the Christians are here for the trib. because the Bible talks about the days being shortened for the "elects" sake. Isn't the "elect" Christians.
@chaineychainaman No, I don't believe the rapture is going to take people before the tribulation - the "rapture" texts are twisted out of context. Every rapture text they utilize speaks of Christ's coming at the resurrection and judgment - a singular event, but no rapture that takes them away so they don't have to face trials/tribulations. @prophetrev Thanks for commenting back. I always leaned toward the one event of Christ coming back at the end. When I read the scriptures it reads to me that way. If not then how could it be the 2nd coming. It would be the third coming. the first when Christ was born, the 2nd when he comes in the "rapture", and the third and final coming at the end. I just don't see it in the word. But I find very few that think we (Christians)will be here at the end.

It's a quick and concise explanation of the basic flaws (there are many more than are addressed there - but those articles usually have like a 1000 word limit so the author's have to keep it succinct)
@chaineychainaman What bothers me most about this idea is the escapism it promotes. Its such an Amero-centric view. We want to escape and be raptured because of how cushy and easy our lives have been, and not face what Christians all over the rest of the world face constantly. This theology is not popular outside the US, because it totally insults the persecution and faithful witness of millions of Christians around the world who constantly undergo trial/tribulation on account of their faith.

When you see how people from all over the world that have been killed for their faith in Christ, it amazes me that some Christians think because we live in the U.S. that we get special privilges from the Lord. I think we are blesed, yes. But, I also think the Lord will hold us to a higher standard because of the opportunities we have to worship him and read his word. I believe we will face persecution one day. You can feel it starting to change now in media and etc.

These movies freaked me out when I was a teenager. However, I now respect the technique in these films. This was among the first series, Christian or secular to use the same actors over a long period. I don't believe in the Pre-Trib Rapture anymore, but still like the examination into facing martyrdom.
I believe the Bible, and I want to choose my words carefully; I didn't have a good relationship with my earthly father. Life has been HARD for me; my son died when he was two, etc., I haven't been able to move my HEAD knowledge of God to my Heart, and Believe that He is a Good God...

@tisokan Make no mistake, when in Proverbs the word "fear" is used, you must remember that the original language is Hebrew. The word translated "fear" is "yare" in Hebrew which means a reverent respect. The Bible also says perfect love casts out all fear and God hasn't given us a spirit of fear. I don't serve God because I am afraid of hell, but I have responded to His love. We know God's love in that while we were sinners, Christ died. When we were enemies, He made a way for us to be sons.

it's amazing how our beutifull god and Lord still gives those people a second chance who are left behind AFTER the repture... but they'll have to get through all the misery that awaits in the great tribulation. the repture is also a common lessons for every atheist to learn that they have to repent.
I hope the final one "A Thief in the Night V: The Battle of Armageddon" will come out this year or sometime this year. I heard that it is in production right now and it will come out this year. This amazing series isn't even over yet.

I really came on here to comment about this movie. As an adult I can finally say that, yeah, it is cheesy and the production is pretty bad and the acting leaves much to be desired, but it's the message in the movie which is intended to be the focal point. So with that being said, I say, "Well done."
It is an awfully big assumption that what an ancient religous text claims will happen is absolute truth. There is no evidence to show that your "holy" book is the actual word of your god. Yes, I know that it claims that for itself, but that is NOT proof. Just because some book claims to be God's word, doesn't make it so. I could sit down and write such a book tomorrow making the exact same claim. That does not make it so.

Absolutely backwards. The burden of proof is always on the claimant, not the other way around. In a court trial, the prosecutor is the one making the claim, not the defendant. The prosecutor is claiming that the defendant is guilty. The defendant is presumed innocent unless the prosecutor can prove his claim of "guilty". In the case of your holy book, it makes a claim about itself. It is up to those who believe that claim to show that it is a true claim.

Im of the impression that the ability to birth children in the end of days will be an impossibility, both for spiritual and physical reasons (perhaps the presence of nuclear war) especially with those opting to choose the path of the Beast. Though this runs contrary to Mr Laheye and Mr Jenkins parable of believers bringing children into the world in the end of days, though its to repopulate the earth and bring forth beings for the 1000 years reign of Christ.

there is still a lot of debate of whether the rapture will be before the tribulation or in the middle, and the bad parts don't even really start until 3 1/2 years in. so kids are a definite possibility. Unless you can find something in the bible that says "there will be no kids"

The one problem I had, especially with the next movie in the series "Image of the Beast" was with the presence of a 3 year old boy born shortly after the rapture. Tim Laheye and Jerry Jenkins in their Left Behind novels point out that any woman pregnant before the rapture would become barren after it...children ought not experience these judgements. The three year old boy in Image of the Beast, and his execution at the end, is a bit overkill...
The reason to why there is a child in the third movie "Image of The Beast" is because, the mother before the rapture took place was pregnant with a child and she was an unbeliever but her husband was a believer in christ. I grew up in the mid-west (Kansas and Missouri). It is the "Fire and Brimstone" capital. This is what I was taught.
After years of believing this was how the world would end, I have come to realize it is indeed a bit over the top.
Americans seem to be very near-sighted. The Rapture is a rather new idea in the Christian church and it is mostly a belief held by evangelicals in the US.
Much of the rest of the world thinks this is a very odd interpretation...with age, I now see why.
Watched this movie over and over when I was about 11 years old. Have been very interested in the rapture all my life. They do need to remake this movie though!!!! !!!!!!

By all means witness out of love, but don't jeopardize your walk with Christ. Think about it, there were naysayers in Jesus' time, and what did he do about it? He accomplished His mission. I think Patty is a tragic character. When I was younger I use to watch this movie and think, its was so simple, all she had to do was repent for her sins. But the more I watch it the more I realize thats what happens wen we constantly reject God. At some point, our hearts become hardened to Him. Jn 17:15 1 Thessalonians speaks of the resurrection happening BEFORE being caught up in the air. And in Jesus' day, to be "taken" (Matt 24) was to be taken in judgment like the Gestapo would take people in Nazi Germany. Christians are called to stay faithful in the face of evil. Every rapture text they utilize speaks of Christ's coming at the resurrection and judgment - a singular event, but no rapture that takes them away so they don't have to face trials/tribulations. If not then how could it be the 2nd coming. It would be the third coming. the first when Christ was born, the 2nd when he comes in the "rapture", and the third and final coming at the end. I just don't see it in the word. But I find very few that think we (Christians)will be here at the end.

We want to escape and be raptured because of how cushy and easy our lives have been, and not face what Christians all over the rest of the world face constantly. This theology is not popular outside the US, because it totally insults the persecution and faithful witness of millions of Christians around the world who constantly undergo trial/tribulation on account of their faith.

When you see how people from all over the world that have been killed for their faith in Christ, it amazes me that some Christians think because we live in the U.S. that we get special privilges from the Lord. I think we are blesed, yes. But, I also think the Lord will hold us to a higher standard because of the opportunities we have to worship him and read his word. These movies freaked me out when I was a teenager. However, I now respect the technique in these films. This was among the first series, Christian or secular to use the same actors over a long period. I don't believe in the Pre-Trib Rapture anymore, but still like the examination into facing martyrdom.

I believe the Bible, and I want to choose my words carefully; I didn't have a good relationship with my earthly father. Life has been HARD for me; my son died when he was two, etc., I haven't been able to move my HEAD knowledge of God to my Heart, and Believe that He is a Good God...

To all who claim they have a day, a time and year of the return of Christ just boggles me. I am a Christian and believe in the rapture, the mark of the beast and the Anti-Christ. All the signs are here, but Christ return will be when the WHOLE earth has been preached the gospel Mat. 24:36 "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

SHAME to any church/group/club/guardian that shown to kids in an effort to scare them into believing that Fundamental Christianity or else face hell & holocaust. Not only is it wrong to threaten, but man this is BAD BAD acting.

If you have faith in him only cause your scared that its the thing you have to do, is it real faith. Thats like telling your dad you love him just cause if you dont your afraid he will beat you in spite.

@tisokan Make no mistake, when in Proverbs the word "fear" is used, you must remember that the original language is Hebrew. The word translated "fear" is "yare" in Hebrew which means a reverent respect. The Bible also says perfect love casts out all fear and God hasn't given us a spirit of fear. I don't serve God because I am afraid of hell, but I have responded to His love. We know God's love in that while we were sinners, Christ died. When we were enemies, He made a way for us to be sons.

Well any and every person that is a truly saved elect of GOD christian is indeed a prophet, also the date of the rapture has been revealed, remember GOD gave Daniel the info and told him to seal it up until the time of the end, and HE also said in the end day Knowladge shall increase, and it surly has, also the mark of the beast is not a physical mark, it only means that those who are not saved, any ways, MAY 21 2011 IS THE DAY OF THE RAPTURE AND THE BEGINNING OF JUDGMENTDAY.

Okay. 30 years ago I was forced to watch these 4 films in sunday school and they've haunted me for years and now they've returned to torment me again. But if you watch movies like the Book of Eli or shit like Mad Max after these, you got yourself a pretty good scarefest, oh and throw in the Oman, completely freak yourself out.

I can rember friday night movies at our fundementalist christian church, and how we watched these movies in horror as young children. Up untill I was 11 I was told that I would burn in hell for something as simple as masturbation.Interesting how a person's thoughts can evolve, and they come to find a peace in knowledge..Not carnal, but the knowledge that comes from a indecisive educated mind.

it's amazing how our beutifull god and Lord still gives those people a second chance who are left behind AFTER the repture... but they'll have to get through all the misery that awaits in the great tribulation. the repture is also a common lessons for every atheist to learn that they have to repent.

I hope the final one "A Thief in the Night V: The Battle of Armageddon" will come out this year or sometime this year. I heard that it is in production right now and it will come out this year. This amazing series isn't even over yet.

But I'm not on here to debate or argue. It's pointless and almost always accomplishes nothing. But I only wanted to respond to what you've written.
I really came on here to comment about this movie. As an adult I can finally say that, yeah, it is cheesy and the production is pretty bad and the acting leaves much to be desired, but it's the message in the movie which is intended to be the focal point. So with that being said, I say, "Well done."

It is an awfully big assumption that what an ancient religous text claims will happen is absolute truth. There is no evidence to show that your "holy" book is the actual word of your god. Yes, I know that it claims that for itself, but that is NOT proof. Just because some book claims to be God's word, doesn't make it so. I could sit down and write such a book tomorrow making the exact same claim. That does not make it so.

@dmnemaine What's written in the bible promotes the claim that it is self-authenticating, yes. So you prove that it isn't so. Providng proof is not necessary for those who support that claim, but on those who oppose it.
I claim that I'm innocent. It's the prosecutor's responsibility to provide proof that I'm not.
If you were to write a book as you say and claim that it's from God, why would I ask you to prove it? Shouldn't I set out to disprove it to confirm your a liar?

Absolutely backwards. The burden of proof is always on the claimant, not the other way around. In a court trial, the prosecutor is the one making the claim, not the defendant. The prosecutor is claiming that the defendant is guilty. The defendant is presumed innocent unless the prosecutor can prove his claim of "guilty". In the case of your holy book, it makes a claim about itself. It is up to those who believe that claim to show that it is a true claim.

Im of the impression that the ability to birth children in the end of days will be an impossibility, both for spiritual and physical reasons (perhaps the presence of nuclear war) especially with those opting to choose the path of the Beast. Though this runs contrary to Mr Laheye and Mr Jenkins parable of believers bringing children into the world in the end of days, though its to repopulate the earth and bring forth beings for the 1000 years reign of Christ.

I don't think it will be impossible to have kids (also in the next movie, Billy was born 3 days after the rapture)
there is still a lot of debate of whether the rapture will be before the tribulation or in the middle, and the bad parts don't even really start until 3 1/2 years in. so kids are a definite possibility. Unless you can find something in the bible that says "there will be no kids"
though your idea about nuclear holocaust making it more difficult is very sound.

The one problem I had, especially with the next movie in the series "Image of the Beast" was with the presence of a 3 year old boy born shortly after the rapture. Tim Laheye and Jerry Jenkins in their Left Behind novels point out that any woman pregnant before the rapture would become barren after it...children ought not experience these judgements. The three year old boy in Image of the Beast, and his execution at the end, is a bit overkill...

The reason to why there is a child in the third movie "Image of The Beast" is because, the mother before the rapture took place was pregnant with a child and she was an unbeliever but her husband was a believer in christ. She got left behind and she had her child after the rapture. i hope i explained it right. god bless friend jesus christ is the way and the truth.

@SynthPirate notice the left behind books are in the fiction section... lehaye and jenkins are not the say all end all teachers of prophecy, and the inside cover of the books indicate that they are fiction based on what is a possibility of the circumstances.
there is a lot that is unknown about this, and this story is just one take on it.

That whole fanfare music is creepy...dah dah dah daaaah da da da daahh! The acting is quite bad in these, but the story is quite good! Perhaps they should remake these but...I dunno...they gave me nightmares when I was a teenager, as they reportedly did to alot of other people. Parables are necessary to explain otherwise rather obscure scripture....but these seem a tad, well, hell fire preachy dont you think?

I grew up in the mid-west (Kansas and Missouri). It is the "Fire and Brimstone" capital. This is what I was taught.
After years of believing this was how the world would end, I have come to realize it is indeed a bit over the top.
Americans seem to be very near-sighted. The Rapture is a rather new idea in the Christian church and it is mostly a belief held by evangelicals in the US.
Much of the rest of the world thinks this is a very odd interpretation...with age, I now see why.
