I am going to see them this Saturday. I can tell you that this is one of the clearest videos i have heard from the Machine Shop. My camera just sounds like a blown speaker when i play back live performances. It is extremely loud in this place. I watch Asking Alexandria on youtube and it sounds like this but in concert, they sound awesome. It is just the flaws of our cameras and loud speakers.
maybe this is a waste of my time but... remember that was the closing song. I didn't see anything wrong with his vocals, he was letting the croud sing and then he would hold the mic out and bring it in when singing at curtain spots. And not to many cameras can capture sound like our ears do...
Great show.. But he sings off key or how to say it.. He should work on hitting more tones I think.. Awesome band recorded and this is one of my favourite songs!
One other thing that someone pointed out was his voice being tired. After being on the road and singing these songs over and over im sure your voice has to get tired.
This guys sound way better in concert than on these vids thats for sure. I will agree John is going flat on parts of this song. Not sure if hes having a problem hearing himself or what. I was at this show and it did not sound like it does here. Im kinda shocked how not so great it sounds.
The only problem with songs like this that they sound great on the album but when they are played live then the singer has a hard time hitting the notes. i like the band don't get me wrong but if go to see a band and the singer doesn't wam up or doesn't know how to take acre of his voice it sounds like this (bad).
You have a fairly great point. The only thing I have to say is it may even be the challenge of up-rising his voice more then he had to in a -quiet- envorinment for singing ont he album. You have to consider 'yelling' over the crowd. >.o But, good point none-the-less.
actually, some bands like Paramore, Slipknot (and Stone Sour by extension), Rides Again, Rise Against, and the Goo Goo Dolls are among the few that BARELY alter the sound. It doesn't mean the singer can't sing, but maybe since it's a tour, and it's not a controlled studio, the acoustics of the voice will be off, plus this camera doesn't capture voice quality like our ears do.
Yeh, I wasn't saying they are bad singers.. But I'm saying the majority of artists (in all genres of music) usualy do some alterations, if minor or major..
@gagmp So many bands autotune. this guy hits them. As a fellow singer in the Genre this guy is doing a damn good job. no offense, i agree with you in general but for these guys do their song justice, that dude just needs to learn to breath better.
they are great live... just have to go to a show where you can be up close and personal with them. i've met the band on several occasions and are so easy to talk to and will sit there and talk to you about anything.
