I miss my expos so bad... what a team we had in 1994., then the strike or the ...lock -out. dont forget that the blue jays won in 92 93. worst rating for baseball in the us for those 2 world series. a few owner start shitting in their pants when they saw where the expos where going and started saying no to all the offer from the player association just to make sure that another canadian would go all the way to world series. owners cancelled the season not players.
Thanks russellmontreal. You're right on the money with everything you said. And to top things off, you got a government in this province/country willing to move mountains for a hockey team but won't lift a finger for a ballclub and it just makes me sick. And what are the "commissioner" and MLPA doing for small baseball markets like Pittsburgh, KC and Oakland exactly? "Win through your farm system" is a song we know by heart in Montreal and I'm sure they're getting tired of it too over there.
Awesome Video, but also incredibly sad to see how young & dynamic Walker was when with the Expos as it makes you remember how Unbelievably Talented the 1993 & 1994 Expos teams were!!! If there was no strike in 1994 the Expos would have made a deep playoff run which would have had a domino effect resulting in the team being able to keep their best players, including Walker who left after 1994, getting a new downtown stadium & still being the MONTREAL EXPOS today!!! Ah, but life's not fair!!!
So sad to think what could have been....great job on this one too!!!
