There is no problem with ear cropping, it is a simple cosmetic snip and pups recover very quickly.. I do however see the prong is too loose, it should fit snuggly at the top of the neck behind the ear base and under the jawline and shouldnot slip. if it does it needs to have links removed. leerburg.com/Photos/prong-6.gif and always should be place on the right side especially if the handler heels his dog at the left of him.

It cost me $125 and I think it came out perfect in every way. The ears were standing on their own the same day and I never had to tape them. I also ended up taking the stitches out on my own as the this vet is kind of far from my home. You may expect a little bit higher priced since your dogs ears will definitely have to be taped a bit longer and for a few follow ups. It is possible though.
I do walk him out at night but that is no solution - just for a while...A trainer here (and I think everywhere) is f***ing expensive! But I have to and thanks for letting me know some of yours are the same kind of dogs. Had luck with my other two male AmStaffs 'cause they were a lot "nicer."
Your boy is beautiful! I have an AmStaff (3,5 years) and a lot of problems with him because he is SUPER aggressiv with other dogs. Humans - no problem, but dogs...OMG. It's no fun at all to take him out for a walk! Need to contact a trainer because I have no nervs anymore!
Anydog decending from the pitbull/amstaff is likely gonna be animal aggresive. Thats what the dogs were originally bred for, so its in the genetics. So this is not the breed for you if you dont know that about these dogs. They are super sweet to people but can be animal aggresive. Probably the best bet is to get one of those BULLY dogs who are bred to have a mellow temperament

There is only 1 doctor that does the ears. He comes by the clinic twice a week just for ear croppings. That clinic is by far the best in Houston for ear croppings. I've seen many jobs they've done and the all looked PERFECT!
Yes got ears done but not at gulfgate. We had an appt. 2 get thm done on the 10, they told us that we were lucky, the vet was retiring at the end of that week, so we were excited that we made the appt b4he retired. They called me up the day b4 her appt and said we wud have 2reschedule cuz the vet cancelled all his appts and they didn't know if he would be coming back. WTF?! So we found another place, garza animal clinic, he had pics of jobs hes done, they all looked good. we had them done their.

I also ended up taking the stitches out on my own as the this vet is kind of far from my home. You may expect a little bit higher priced since your dogs ears will definitely have to be taped a bit longer and for a few follow ups. It is possible though.

I do walk him out at night but that is no solution - just for a while...A trainer here (and I think everywhere) is f***ing expensive! But I have to and thanks for letting me know some of yours are the same kind of dogs. Had luck with my other two male AmStaffs 'cause they were a lot "nicer."

Your boy is beautiful! I have an AmStaff (3,5 years) and a lot of problems with him because he is SUPER aggressiv with other dogs. Humans - no problem, but dogs...OMG. It's no fun at all to take him out for a walk! Need to contact a trainer because I have no nervs anymore!

Always walk animal aggresive dogs at night. No one will be out. And you wont have to deal with him trying to get at other animals.

Anydog decending from the pitbull/amstaff is likely gonna be animal aggresive. Thats what the dogs were originally bred for, so its in the genetics. So this is not the breed for you if you dont know that about these dogs. They are super sweet to people but can be animal aggresive. Probably the best bet is to get one of those BULLY dogs who are bred to have a mellow temperament

my female is exactly the same,,and she 78 lbs so a LOT of other dogs have no chance bcuz she is VERY agressive...attacked a male AmStaff tht was walking down the street bcuz it came to close to her...its usually this way if in the history of your dogs family tht its Grandpa so to speak was a fighter then its instinct in your dog to be tht way towards animals.

There is only 1 doctor that does the ears. He comes by the clinic twice a week just for ear croppings. That clinic is by far the best in Houston for ear croppings. I've seen many jobs they've done and the all looked PERFECT!

Yes got ears done but not at gulfgate. We had an appt. 2 get thm done on the 10, they told us that we were lucky, the vet was retiring at the end of that week, so we were excited that we made the appt b4he retired. They called me up the day b4 her appt and said we wud have 2reschedule cuz the vet cancelled all his appts and they didn't know if he would be coming back. WTF?! So we found another place, garza animal clinic, he had pics of jobs hes done, they all looked good. we had them done their.

You have to take a picture of the ear you want and if you Vet is good, he can do it. i just told my vet "medium cut" and he knew what to do.

By the way, I took him to Gulfgate animal clinic in Houston. The Doc is really good and the ears were standing the same day...No bandages needed.
