It took me a while to start watching Doctor Who, but before I watched it, anything I saw of it was with David Tennant as the Doctor, so that's what I was expecting. So when I saw Chris Eccleston, I was a little uncomfortable at first, but I grew to like him so much that it took me two whole seasons to get used to David Tennant again. I wanted Eccleston back, one season wasn't enough.
@psxwarrior And you need a Dalek. They are not that different u know. OBEY OBEY! Oh , you no Obey ? EXTERMINATE! God just prefers fire and brimstone and floods. Daleks just pew pew.
he brought dr who back, i was never a fan of dr who, but i like his work on cracker and otherwise and thought he did a great job, didn't like tennant, but the new dr who is great too.,
I loved Christopher's Doctor, He was much more serious an moody, he gave another side to the Doctor instead of just a love story between him an the assistant. I think he was my favorite Doctor just ahead of David. I wish he did do another series it would of been great, and i love his honesty about not being a Doctor Who fan growing up :)

I cant believe that he said he doesn't like Doctor Who - shocking!! lol So from this interview, i take it if they did a multi doctor story he won't be part of it then. Funny at the end of interview with the toy Dalek hehe XD
He's really interesting and well spoken but this whole interview makes me feel very awkward. I feel like she keeps trying to have a light fluffy interview and he's taking his answers very seriously. Nothing wrong with either approach they just don't seem to be meshing.
Because from the programmes she presents (ie The Heaven and Earth Show') I suspect a twinge of christian zealotism - Christopher Eccleston is a brilliant actor, just wish he had done more Dr Who because he was great
He's an Amazing Actor, his voice is gentle and soothing and he is the Best Doctor IMO. Wished he did more seasons, but it was great seeing him do his charm.
I've only just become a fan of Doctor Who and saw David Tennent in some episodes on BBC America and then I saw Chris Eccleston as Doctor Who ON DEMAND and I must say that I like him very much and its too bad that he didn't do anymore series of Doctor Who.
wow that quote about rose that the guy says at the end just about came true - because before love and monsters it was reveled on the news she was leaving :S
I love Chris. He really puts a lot of thought into what he says and what parts he picks, not just going for really high profile ones. I loved him as The Doctor though and wish he could have done another series. Or come back at christmas as part of the special if they look at the time war.
Thanks much for posting this! Chris comes off amazing in this interview. He's so fantastic! Even though i am a great fan of David Tennant i would love to Chris back to do some specials from time to time. It would be brilliant!
if it wasn't for Chris Doctor Who would have never have been successful for other actors like David Tennant to take the part, he's kicked to door open for the programme.
I just feel like they are trying to rush through all the new doctors, and whoever this kid is taking up the mantle will suck, me thinks... does anyone know what david tennant is going to do?
I keep watching this interview and it strikes me as bizarre that anyone could say Chris is miserable and downright moody. Based on this interview and from a lot of other things I've seen and heard, Chris is a warm, friendly person who really does not deserve the continued negativity about him. He is so charming in this interview!
his doctor is quite sarky and moody, but that's why I like him, he's not preppy and trendy, nor is he the crying emotional mass of bullshit that David Tennant was. out of the new Doctors, he seemed to me to be the closest to being a real person. The recent doctors are egomaniacs

Liked the interview very much. I enjoyed his portrayal of the Doctor, but we can't really get used to one Doctor, now can we? I hated it when he left; I'll hate it When David's gone; And, well, you get the idea. I never got to see the "old" guys...here in U.S. we don't always get to see stuff from other places. But I love the series!
Great interview! Very interesting. Chris seems to have a lot of depth of personality, while being a bit shy and modest; the type who is easy to dismiss at first, but really worth getting to know if you give them the chance.
I think this really comes through in his portrayal of The Doctor.
Very very intresting stuff. I love all the Doctors. Chris is very Unique and I love his openers. Didint really take to him as the Doctor right away [inlike DT who I loved from the off] but by the time Dalek aired I was well and truely into his Doctor.
