  • Dnt 4 get to get the beer

  • Dnt forget the beer

  • one good idea is too refill your gass tank once it hits half way, so that you have enough fuel if disaster hits and the gas station is filled up with cars, also keep gas tanks too, recycle over time

  • Sorry but I've thought about the same thing but I'd expect to get stuck in traffic on my way out of town & my & others situation would end up worse! Car accidents all the way up North! You've seen how bad these drivers are!

  • Love how were talking about fall outs and issues that you would need to bug out, and the magazine he grabes was "Robots, can we trust them?"

  • WHEN it happens it will be a result of the US dissing the rest of the world!

  • Most city dwellers will be dead within 30 days. Most bug out enthusiasts will survive 100 days before starving to death or being killed by other survivalists. The rest of you will be exterminated by the rest of us who live this way every day. Save us the ammo and stay where you are and just die. You'll be doing us both a favour. Don't fuck with Johnny Canuck!!

  • Put food in your bags people. Do NOT depend on nature for food for the first 3 days.

  • no shit?

  • Good video- ignore the haters. I would add a heavy duty space blanket and wool watch cap. Stay Safe- George AKA mercop

  • ironic. a bug out test and the magazine covering the topic of dangerous robots

  • any warm weather/urban survival vids? i live in a warm area that is urban. i have some shelter in place supplies and stuff for my vehicle. not sure about leaving on foot. it's urban here.

  • I love the video. although i need to point something out, cause its bothering me.

you're on top of a 6 foot ridge, thats good if someone only has short range weapons, but most people will go for a high powered hunting rifle instead of a smaller handgun. just my thoughts anyways. nice work on the video =)

  • You forgot the beer...

  • Sweet tips man

  • Don't you think it would be advisable not to camp right by the water. All animals(humans included) tend to migrate to water increasing your chances of discovery. Just an observation.

  • Kind of a random question but, what jacket were you using? it looks quite nice and i need a good jacket, thanks. Great vid man, keep it up :)

  • by the way ,just wondring how come you dont keep your stuff out side like in a shed or little bunker cuz what happens if your house collaps or your house gets on fire

  • haha, eat with a knife? man pass the time and whittle a spoon/fork, thats why i always have 2 knifes :) one for survival then one for anything else and doesnt matter if it gets dull

  • roadwarrior is on the ball !!!!!

  • when you said as much as i can carry... i thought you were going to grab the bud light... (joking)

  • good videos man. As to all the haters I would rather have and not need, then to need and not have

  • Third world shitholes will always act as such. It will take some time before a western coyntry turns to the way these looters act. Great video. Turns theory into practical.

  • Detroit is in a constant state of civil unrest.

  • Hey you left the Bud Lights when you grabbed the water

  • Here's a thought.

Dedicate a bag for this purpose, sans firearms. No forgetting spoons, or can openers, or safety matches, or compass, or topo. maps etc, or etc, etc, ....

  • I'm not leaving...period. With the three of us here, we could hold off quite a crowd. Living in the hood neccessitates bars on the windows, and heavy reinforced doors. Honestly, we would fare much better living in our house with our dog, and surplus of firearms, food, and water. I truly cannot fathom a scenario in which we would be safer hiding under a jacket in the woods, as opposed to being in the house.

  • @LegAmputation An AK-47 or an AR-15 even a 12 ga. will go through every wall in your house on the way out. AK/AR's will go through the bathtub as well. Good luck with that!

  • Bugging Out? On a highway full of out of gas cars, flat tires, overheated radiators broken down vehicles and road blocks? Hungry, thirsty people with weapons standing in the road? Carjacking, rape and robbery? Good luck! Think Jeep 4x4, topographical map, GPS, weapons, extra fuel and water. Know where you are going to go camp.(remote, water, fish, game, fire wood, high ground). Go 4x4 off road. Use weekends now to pick several spots that will serve your families needs. Practice with your firearms.

  • Hunt with a .22LR pistol? Rabbits and Squirrels? Do you think they will stand still while you walk up to them? Realism dictates that you had better be a qualified marksman to even think about that. If you are real lucky you may hit one. Now you skin it, clean it and cook it. City boys may have a problem with that, oh - ya!. Might want to try that sometime just for jokes. Think Mossberg 500 for food like ducks, quail, dove, pigeons, mud hens, rabbits, snakes, deer, boar and farm animals.

    Realism.

  • @sandrifter I have shot, killed, and eatin many animals with a 22lr pistol its not that hard. But then again i have been hunting things my whole life and am good at it lol and yes a shotgun is a much better gun for bigger sized game.

  • @IowaHunter641 Same here. I just don't want some of these folks thinking that they can buy a Ruger Mark 1/2/3 and go out and get something to eat. You have to be quite accomplished to hit a moving rabbit with a pistol without hours and hours of practice along with thousands of rounds of ammo under your belt. It'll take them days and days just to figure when and where they are out of their holes and eating. Peace.

  • @sandrifter we will be the ones alive in the end man

  • @IowaHunter641 Survived Vietnam 68/69, Combat Vet 2X. I'll buy the beer!

  • @sandrifter Only if its a bud. And I thank you for everything you did.

  • Eat with your fingers. And what about chlorine tabs or water purification tabs? Do those work?

  • Jacket tent lol. Better off grabbing some trash bags.

  • dont forget the budlight!

  • He said he didn't want to make a fire so as to not be seen. Nothing about leaving traces he was there. It is rarely a good idea to camp next to a stream, (1) The noise of the water could keep you from hearing someone approaching, I would want to camp away from it staying within easy walking distance for water. (2) People may use streams like that to travel through wooded areas. Wouldn't do to have your camp next to a large refugee freeway when supplies are low. Overall Great video.

  • you could have made a fire if you brought tin foil, mabey?put that on the ground and put rocks around it, then pick up the tinfoil when your done and no one might know you were there

  • Why not already have a bug out bag packed for your home so you can just get out. I have one packed in my car and in my house so I can just grab and go. Great video...lots to think about.

  • @skbockelmannn He said in the beginning imagine if your normal b.o.b. is somewhere else.

  • i am so subbing...nice vids...

  • Fantastic video! Probably my favorite from your catalog. Thanks for the time and effort.

  • Thank you for pointing something out (at 7:10) and that is if things get so bad that one actually has to Bug Out, whatever you leave at home will prob not be there if you ever return. Don't leave anything behind with the idea that you'll come back for it later. B.O. means Danger Close and you are fleeing. Whatever is left is most likely going to be appropriated by others.

  • Thanks for the good info... Some of our friends and distant relatives think we are nuts being "so prepared". We have all the clothes, tools, weapons, ammo, food, camping type gear, and most importantly; knowledge, we can aquire. And as you've said, when it happens, they'll be totally unprepared. We would defend our home as long as possible before bugging out, but that all depends on what exact situation is occuring. Our household is "locked n loaded".

  • if i only had 5 minutes to bug out i would not be prepared to get out.i would start freaking out and just be completely confused and lost inside my house.

  • That sleeping bag is a Cat's Meow +20º sleeping bag right?

  • Road Warri0r.......great video and likely bug-out situation. I have but one suggestion to make it even better.....in your bug-out camp site by the river, it seems as though you are wearing a pair of casual shoes like a lot of people wear to work, and I would not leave the house in such a situation personally without a good pair of boots. I keep two pairs in my car with my BOB, a pair of jungle boots and a pair of Asolo Gore-Tex hiking boots. Keep up the good work........awesome job. BW

  • I have a question. I am a middle-aged lady, (here alone a lot). I'm well-equipped/ stocked-up and prepared to shelter in, including a central room where i keep most of my gear. 3 guns and keep everything maintained/ inspected regularly. In suburbia, close to freeway, typical 2-story house, and have a car. Wouldn't I use bug-out as last resort (vs. shelter in)? Wouldn't I be safer staying here (barring obvious; fire etc)? When/ why would I leave? Thanks in advance for your advice, great videos!

  • @teamhunley - hi, thanks for the question. I think I say in all my videos that bugging out is a last resort. Leave only if your neighborhood is in a "Mogadishu" type situation where armed looters are going door to door killing people.

Bugging in is always a better option than becoming a refugee. Hands down. Thanks.

  • @teamhunley throw a lot of non rotting garbage in the front yard. Make it look like robbers were there. In a bug in situation have escape routes and alternate plans arranged incase you are overwhelmed.

    Stuff like that.

If you didn't know all of this already.

  • @teamhunley Yeup! Stay in before leaving. Learn how to secure your home and pay attention to everyone walking by! Learn how to use your weapons and also good driving tactics with scenario based training to avoid car jacking and ambush situations. ALWAYS be vigilant. Chances are if there is a collapse there will be some semblance of "normal" society still taking care of business, but it would be a LOT more difficult than you have it today with a LOT more crime & violence.

  • Great video!!! This kind of inspired me to create my own style of a B.O.B, so check it out if you get a chance and tell me what you think. Thanks!

  • i always used to think about leaving in my van and then remember (i know it was only a move) the scene in war of the worlds when everyone is trying to leave - that scene unsettled me more than the entire movie. a car is something you have to defend & it hampers your ability to move through the masses. i would include my pocket guide to wild edible plants. i live in a city, grow food, have hens, but i wouldnt want to hunker down i would b in a tree, on a boat, or dig myself a hole to hide in

  • It would take me at least 10 minutes to find my car keys....

  • @LegacyMicro thank you, you made me laugh. and omg he left the BUD LITE! but seriously a really good video

  • If we are thinking combat situation here, you need to have packs stocked and ready to go in your house and all your vehicles. Water and ammo are the two most important things. For the first 24 hours you can expect no sleep, and expect very little downtime. Hydrate, conserve your ammo. Have a plan to get to somewhere safe within the first 24 hours. Only when you are in a safe spot should you worry about tents, sleeping bags etc.

In the first 24-48 hours water and ammunition are priority 1.

  • u forgot a small shovel but you could use a digging stick ig

  • i feel bad for the bud light

  • Great exercise in preparedness. Murphy's law dictates things will go wrong at the worst possible time. Excellent idea to rehearse an exit strategy in 5 mins. or less.

  • The hands are idle...I would whittle a spoon from a thick branch.

  • Comment removed

  • 5 minutes n go. Note your stuff is organized and easier to pick best to carry. Did not see large water bag with filter or water purifier tablets. 72 to 96 hours is a minimum regroup time prior to recon of extended area. Great vid

  • Nice vid, but, why pass on the Bud Light?!??!?!!:P Just started working on this stuff, great info, thanks.......

  • The biggest thing you forgot was waterproof boots. What are you wearing, moccasins?

Also 2 xtra pairs of socks and toilet paper.

    Good job overall/

  • i would stay in my house with a shotty then if a whole gang raided my house i would take stuff then run

  • It is important to realize, you don't want to draw attention to yourself. Someone would maybe hear you when you shoot small game with a 22. Best to have a good pellet gun. That will bring down most small game and no one will know you're there. Think about it.

  • Don't forget that meat can be boiled and eaten just as well as cooked over an open flame. Won't taste that great, but the nutritional content is there and that's the important thing for survival. There are also more primitive cooking methods such as pouring hot coals into a pit, wrapping the meat in leaves and covering with sand or dirt, which could be useful for long-term survival where open-flame cooking isn't desirable.

  • No we cant trust robots!

  • hey, jw because i couldnt find this info elsewere, how long will one of those mini propane tanks burn?

  • @sxnoss40 Try looking on any of the hundred websites where you can buy propane tanks for that information.

  • get a tripod your wasting precious seconds great vid tho.

  • hey just my thoughts but unless my house was blone up i would defend my house and shoot the son of a bitch that tryed to loot my house

  • what song was the beginning

  • @crazycrackergabe highway to hell by ACDC

  • @chex22 thanks

  • Good idea, to have a dry-run etc; I'm still gathering gear, 1 thing I like to do is wear a pistol-type hiking belt with easy access to things like first aid stuff, firestarting stuff, knife, compass, mylar emergency blanket etc. that I could get to while keeping B.O.B. on;...BTW, "can we trust robots"-LOL funny since the premise here is about trusting/not trusting people...PS after Katrina Mississippi had much less civil unrest than New Orleans-just depends who your neighbors are. Thanx!

  • wow this is a great idea, doing like a dry run

  • I just broke up with my girlfriend from Haiti......she was crushed!

  • 7:29 that leatherman wave is awesome. i have one and i cant find any multitool better.

  • 1 water....6pack of budlight lol.

  • We just added this video to our site!

    AmericanSurvival101 dot com

  • what about if you have like 6 moths food storage??

what i'm preparing for is going to last more than a day or two

  • you that bottle of Jim Beam is in my bag.

  • Great Video Series; Glock man myself, keep them comming!

  • cool gun

if i were to be shot, i would want to be shot by the ruger

  • Dude, you forgot the beer, hehe :p

  • Excellent video!

On the less serious note, in lieu of the " civil unrest " scenario, I would have grabbed a couple beers for the road. God knows I would need them.

But in the time you gave yourself, that was very good. I'm going to practice myself.

  • Damn! Thanks a lot! You made me realize that the way I'm set up right now, if the SHTF, I'M SCREWED! I'd have a lot of stuff, ALL OF IT WRONG!

    I have work to do!!!

    Thanks!

  • You are good man, I hope to see more of your work on this subject ! Thanks

  • This was a great vid, thanks for the post roadwarrior..

    5/5

  • ROFLS i got that magazine too. 35000 foot fall survival was interesting.

  • Your all fools every one wants to run to the woods the government thugs know right where to go to finde all you people ill sit right here in town eating pizza and be safe because all the military thugs are in the woods with you and the looters are up town J

  • Great Video! Thanks RW

  • great vid I think you should do another like this maybe an overnighter or somthing

  • A lot of work and time goes into these videos. That's a lot to ask of someone to spend the night outside so you can watch.

I'll think about it, but why don't you lead from the front and make a video to show me how you do with an overnighter? :)

  • Yeah I guess it does sound a little demanding. It would also of course be much harder in a 5 min bug out situation. I have been thinking of making my own 5 min bug out vid. If anything in the winter id probably just end up camping in my backyard.

  • @theroadwarri0r Holy shit, man. Give us a BREAK. Work? Pssshhhtttt.

  • some of the best urban survival vids ive seen, feeling very motivated :)

  • Communication-A handcrank am/fm shortwave radio (with an earphone) would be good to keep track of any news around you as you wait it out.

  • I think the hardest thing to deal with in a situation like this is depression and worry. Exactly what you said. I wouldn't be so much worried about myself but I would worry about my family.

  • Great video as always. It makes me laugh to read all the posts from the sheeple when I watch one of your vids. They will be the ones wanting the government to "help" them. Lot of good it will do FEMA cant react to a disaster fast unless it is outside our borders. I will stick with my bug out system and my own rifles to get through a disaster. Keep up the good work.

  • Post katrina FEMA is actually don't to bad not saying that I don't have my own seperate stuff but post katrina FEMA is 20 times better than pre katrina.

  • Excellent video as always, TRW.

If you know how to use chopsticks, you could carve a pair and use them for eating.

  • Just like all the other fools that make negative comments and namecall on my channel. You are part of the "zero upload" club. Why not stfu and go somewhere else to troll?

No, I take that back. Please stay, I enjoy the laugh. Wake up. There are case studies all around you. During Katrina there were riots and looting in the streets. People had to shoot others to survive. Happening in Haiti right now too.

Obviously you will be the unprepared fool at my door looking down my barrel for help

  • @theroadwarri0r: Amen brother. I just laugh at those who poke fun, mock, or just call "survivalists" nut jobs. When (and it's not an if...it is WHEN) the SHTF...these fools had better stay away from my doorstep...cuz they'll be looking down a couple barrels from several angles.

  • DO YOU WATCH THE NEWS?!!!! Have you watched what is going on in Haiti RIGHT NOW AS I WRITE THESE WORDS?!!!! We want to help people prepare and save there own lives! This is not about what gets us off! YOU FOOL!!! DON'T YOU KNOW HISTORY???

  • @how0will0this0end

Desperation makes people do desperate things!

  • Yet another bar on the ladder of success has been set. Y'all need to pay attention and stop hating on the skills and mindset. Look at the world that surrounds you people. No one is coming to your rescue in the time that YOU want them to! It's up to you, to save you and yours! Way to go RW!

  • Thanks man. I appreciate your viewpoint. Look at what's happening in Haiti right now, if that doesn't wake people up about preparedness, I dont' know what will. We have flooding in SoCal right now, those people need to have their 5 minute bugout plan nailed propper!!! Keet hitting me back nightblade, I enjoy the comments.

  • yeah I am in SoCal and there is a flood watch in my county, and after watching the great videos on BOB's and bug out's in 5 minutes or less I was getting all my gear ready just in case my family has to tonight. Thanks RW

  • Nice work RW. Keep 'em coming!

  • Absolutely love the videos. Keep them coming. They are very informative on when the SHTF.

  • good stuff, from a soldier to another.

  • Good to go brother.

  • As much as you can carry!DAMN RIGHT!

Everything you leave behind, will most likely be looted =(

  • How long can you leave your sleeping bag rolled up before it gets worn out? I would like to roll my sleeping bag up and leave it in my BOB but some people have told me that it ruins the bag. What do you think.

  • @JERMBUGS Don't leave it rolled up. I leave mine out most of the time.

  • why wouldn't you field with a rifle?

  • Yes under real circumstances I would. This was only a dry run drill. It was not worth the real world trouble of having idiot sheep calling the police telling them that they saw a backpacking gunman in the streets headed for the woods. Not worth the trouble. Under real civil unrest TEOTWAWKI scenario I would. This is a training environment therefore some things will be skipped for ease of production, i.e. going to jail to give you all videos.

  • I can dig it. Thanks for giving your time.

  • What about a silencer for the pistol, so you can hunt undetected?

  • That would be a great idea. In the U.S. you need a $200 dollar tax stamp and a 90 day wait to get permission to purchase a suppressor or "can."

  • Hey Great Video, could you do a vid on were you would bug out to. and what is there or wut you would take.

  • Sorry evan. I would never post on a public forum where my bug out location is.

  • Sorry I said that wrong, I meant like what gear you have there/ water source, lighting, ect. Not necessarily your particular bug out location just what you look for in one. Sorry for the mix up.

  • good call on the Mark III

  • Nice video, learning all the time...thanks!

Did you not get a tarp with you or poncho, it would be nice maby, and doesnt weight so much either.

  • just an idea, something to do to pass the time, could widdle a spoon out of a stick.

  • I really like and think it's smart that you actually simulation real life scenario's. It helps in imprinting it in your mind and nervous system. I need to do this.

  • kind of appropriat magazine. Its not to far off that people might be hunted down by robots Terminator style.

  • One thing I suggest to newbies is to scope out the area you live in (hopefully at the edge of the city) and that you can get to within a 5 min walk into nature.

Also Google's Sat. Map is a good tool to get to know your surroundings for bush (cover).

Cans of Bear Spray (Pepper Spray) hooked to a trip wires... on the perimeter.

I'm moving and know exactly where camp will be if worse came to worse, but have everything ready for a bug in as well.

  • hooking up pepper spray to trip wires? I don't think I'll try this. Seems too "McGyverish"

Maybe some fishing line and scavenged aluminum cans for an alarm, but I can't see rigging up pepper spray. How do you aim it? Waste of defensive resources.

  • I would aim in the direction of the trip wire, Sabre® Wild Max Bear Spray has a distance of 18ft so if pointed across or in front the wire, of course wind direction would play a role but it would cover a large area.

Only reason I suggested Pepper Spray is to incapacitate one's vision long enough to over take the intruder and any weapons they have.

cans would be good for a warning if you have weapons, I am thinking as a Canadian, we can't easily get guns.. pepper spray we can get... lol

  • Oh, sorry. Didn't know you were a canadian and you were limited in armament. In that case, I'd buy a few cases of wild max bear! Good thinking. I might get some myself. Is that the best type of spray? Thanks!

  • It's the strongest here in Canada, 1% Caspian or however it's spelled.... also some "Bear Bangers" which is a trigger system that can be hooked to a trip wire.

A "Bear Banger" is like a Flare Tube, but it contains a Loud Cannon Like FireCracker that lets off a loud BOOM... can also be used for Flares, depends what you load, good for a distance to hear, and to also hear if they fire back to see if they are armed.... either that or if they run away.

    Thinking like a Unarmed Canuck!

  • What about the Bud light?!?! lol

  • SUBBED!! 5*****

  • great vid. before i started using a B.O.B. i had things in my home bagged labled 1-5 for the most inportant to least. to speed my escape. but after i started using a bob i stopped. think i will start again. thanx for the info.

  • You better have a destination capable of supporting you and your loved ones because if you think you will "live off the land", you'll be what's called a refugee. That's why I favor getting together with neighbors and "bugging in" with a common defense.

  • @Godsgunner2007 - we've all read the "alpharubicon" thoughts on bugging out. I agree. Bugging out is a LAST resort. We all get it.

  • Hey, I learned something. Rock ancher, +1. Thanks

  • great video i gave it 5 *****

  • In order to avoid a hurried and possibly poorly equiped emergency bug out from the home, why not have a preselected site like the one in the video but with all your supplies prepositioned in a buried cache.

1 or 2 5 gallon buckets should suffice to hold enough gear. You could even have a rifle and ammo buried in a PVC tube to avoid carrying it in public while escaping.

This way you can get out quicker and travel lighter and faster. Consider it a secondary "bug out bag". More insurance.

  • Good drill. I have scouted my area as well for places to hide out when you may face a superior force (ie don't be where they expect you to be).

However, even if I have to disguise it, I'm not bugging out without a rifle.

    Roll it in a rug

    Place in a guitar case

Hide it under a poncho or trench coat

Once you get to where you are going, you plan on staying hidden anyway.

If I am outside where range is king, I want to have the option of not letting enemies get close.

  • great video!!

  • WorldBankofAmero just posted a video response to this vid. Check it out!

  • what if you can't get to any of that?

how about tips on surviving with no supplies?

  • Good suggestion. That type of video would involve teaching people how to acquire what they don't have, or also known as stealing. Its' a touchy subject for many. Controversial at best.

  • Rw man you need to teach survivalism. im sure everyone here would agree with me that you would do well, help people, and make good money at it if you tried. my thoughts is all.. good video.

  • Thanks. I don't have time to teach classes or anything like that. I'm in the military.

  • The only reason I see in leaving your home would be your house is engulfed in flames or you see the Blue helmets or the chinese redcoats coming door to door. By then it will be too late to leave as platoons of 20+ will be going up and down every street and you have 2 mins to get your equalizer because you're in for one hell of a last stand and it ain't no movie at that point! All guns a blazing all across America! I humbly pray I'm 100% wrong.

  • Yes, leaving is a last resort. I am not a fan of the bug-out. It's totally an act of desperation.

  • It could certainly happen here. In fact, I think we are in more danger than most, since we are a country whose inhabitants are most disassociated from being self-reliant, self-supportive, and able to provide all the necessary items for our survival. Thanks for this reminder. I hope people are really listening. Take care of yourself. If people are donating to Haiti, I'd recommend that you spread your donations across 3 to 5 different organizations. Most don't all fill the same roles.

  • we need more of this info ,good job man love it thanks peace later

  • great video. i would like to see more of these in this format. great job man.

  • Rock anchor, nice, I learned from this video

    Thanks RW

  • nice 5*****

  • Aha, I was thinking about getting a RAT-7 after watching some of Nutnfancy's videos (on a binge of those now)

I have access on foot to one small stream by a golf course and 2 lakes (1 big one maybe, not sure). Can lake water be sterilized and drunk like stream water?

Other than that, yeah, the depression's really gonna hit. What do you think about havin' company along that can take care of themselves? Personally, I'd rather go it alone because I can't take the pain of losing someone like that.

  • RAT-7 is made by Ontario and my "Swamp Rat" M-6 is a totally different company. I have the RAT-7. Good blade. I prefer the swamp rat though. Tough to find them.

  • I have been thinking about making 2 different lists

list 1 - Leaving in jeep

list 2 - Leaving on foot

    Thanks RW

  • Can we talk about 1:48 in the vid. Dude...you left the beer! J/K...but as far as civil unrest goes, it would need to get very very bad for me to bug out in 5 min because ALL my suplies are at home. What r u gonna do a week from now. I would almost rather make a stand at home than head to the hills. Good vid though. I get the point.

  • Yeah I agree. It will be hard to leave all the surplus and supplies at home but what I think he was saying is if we have NO CHOICE but to leave. What if a LARGE FORCE was coming at you? There is no way you can take on Tanks and Helicopters or foot solders on your own, Or even if it is a large mob. Not that it will happen like that but just a thought.

  • aww dont just take all water grab some brewskies too
