Another analogy would be something like running around naked. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but completely frowned upon by almost every society on the planet. 2/3 of people would probably just turn away and not look at me, 1/4 would probably be staring in disbelief, and a small percentage would tell me to put some god damn clothes on. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with choosing to carve your own path and living in that shade of gray between a male and a female, but it should be absolutely expected that anytime you go against the grain, you are going to face a lot of social disapproval. I've had a long look under the rocks of normal people, and I'm glad I didn't turn out normal, as not many of them are truly happy and non-judgmentally accepted. I think one of the gifts I have to share is the perspective gained from being transgender, having had experience of both male and female embodiments, and stepping back to the genuine humanity behind the gendered roles of "man" or "woman", and I enjoy playing with Yin and Yang now, and see all mammals as basically hermaphrodite in nature.
