Now this is really news to me....I saw this episode on Good Times, just like all the others, but I never knew Ralph performed this on Soul Train..He still can sing his ass off
He should have had a much funkier song than this if wanted to be a big recording artist bac then. He should have had a Quincy Jones Prod or CHIC Organization production. They were the truth bac then.
Geez, you'd think with the coin he made on this jam he could have gotten James,Florida,JJ and Thelma outta that shithole housing project Cabrini Greens.
This guy was (and is) very talented. Acting, singing, etc. Sad that he doesn't get the accolades he deserves. He does lots for the community, so I think he's pegged as "conscious". Anyway, hopefully he're continue to live beyond the fame, and be happy with the legend he is.
Ralph must have had time off from Good Times which was, at the time, shot at the exact same studio that Soul Train was taped at, which is Metromedia Square.
lol this is was actually a cool song i see. pretty catchey. yo what the hell happend to Donnies house? i remember i seen em do that play way back as a kid and got his autograph back stage
i think he should have tried to start a band like the jackson5. his band wouldn't been as famous as them but at least he would have been better known for his musical talent.
You are awesome in your posting, I wasn't aware Ralph was a singer, this is good to know and he is good. I would like to hear some more of his talent. Again, thanks!
i always liked this song, however i always felt it needed a better mix, it sort of has a demo feel to it.....and ralphs vocals need more polishing......hes a little off key in parts
