For me the best tenors in the world are; Franco Corelli and Pavarotti, Two powerfull, wonderfull and securelly voices. They are sublimes, Bravo, Bravissimo for both!! I missed them and as a portuguese we have a word or that; SAUDADE !!
A lovely aria by Verdi and beautifully sung by Pavarotti. I think the music in IL TROVATORE is wonderful throughout and there's such a wealth of it in this opera.

This man was and is still one of the best tennors of our world. His death came as a shock to me, actually, and brought about much sadness. He is only seconted to Andrea Bocelli.
I'm sorry but you can't really compare a pop singer to an opera singer. There are so many differences and a seasoned opera singer will be better than a seasoned pop singer 99% of the time I would say.
Sublime!!!! Maestros Luciano y Zubin together!. 1991. Extraordinario!

the final is uncommon with "la morte" repeated three times with different power. Is it a small freedom taken by Big Luciano?

@HomoAlba what rubbish. Pavarotti was head and shoulders above Bocelli.

His gifts were much, much larger no doubt. No comparison.
