Ebhm.. It IS a Vr6 - the engine is the same. The mk4 just had 24 valves. The engine has still only got 15 degrees of seperation between the cylinder-rows - sorry but I don't know the correct english expression;-) That is the reason why they call it VR - because it's a v-engine almost as compact as an r-engine;-)
jus go to a custom shop and theyll put on straight pipes for u.. theyre not exactly straight but no cat non res.. imo it would sound better if he had a muffler

A R32 engine(3.2 V6) is only a modified VR6 engine with 3.2 litres instead of 2.8(2.9)litre. Things like injection and stuff are modified too.
