What made Mario so popular? It had a simple premise and characters that you would remember even after playing, so does Angry Birds. Same with Modern Warfare, it's 2010's Halo. You'll see Angry Birds getting spin offs in a near future, too, so don't worry since it will eventually evolve into something "hardcore" I guess.
