  • This is the only video I've seen where the contestant runs out of time by accident (all the other ones were on $50,000+ questions where the contestant clearly let it run out on purpose).

  • who the hells knows stuff like that...?

  • haha he waves to the crowd like he's famous

  • just like in a mario game.the timer will be your enemy

  • I'll ask Moraca uh uh expert please. 0:25

  • why are there timers now in the millionaires game show?

  • @jetliigor They were tired of the people who would take 5 minutes to answer 1 question.

  • Stupid Timer!

  • Looks like a Suddoth twin with those lips

  • That clock is GAY

  • @YouSuckAtFishing I dont think gay ever means stupid if thats what you mean. I dont think it would make sense for someone to say thats so straight

  • @YouSuckAtFishing is being gay that bad? Who cares.

  • i swear to god when this guy first appeared i thought he was samir nasri.

  • @mcalpha3 - HAHAHAHAHHAHA xD Made my fucking day

  • Comment removed

  • I liked it better when regis hosted it and there was no timer...

  • hey you can buy high quality drugs and forget about all this shit :P

  • stop studdern idiot lol

  • 15 seconds!?

  • @ShadowSaberBaroxio yep, it sucks. It's possible to know the answer and still get it wrong 'cause of the pressure from the time. It sucks :/

  • Thats what u get for wearing a Captain Kirk shirt on TV!

  • Had this version used the British clock rules (where if you ran out of time, you get knocked down to the last safe level), he would have ended up with nada.

  • why is beavis on who wants to be a milionaire

  • do ppl understand what country means?? Mississippi was the only southern state on there!!

  • @battlefield3media I don't think you know what country means, since it has nothing at all to do with this question

  • @hejjagedu faith hill is a country singer......it has everything to do with the question.

  • $3,000 isn't too bad. It will buy him a lot of milk and cookies.

  • come on! it doesn't take a genius to figure out that a country singer would most likely be from a southern state!

  • @planexxjane Not exactly. Shania Twain is Canadian.

  • @sunnygrace57 that's true I guess there are exceptions..like Taylor Swift is from Pennsylvania...but still it would have pretty much been an educated guess.

  • Why do they have to put a clock

  • Comment removed

  • Who watches this crap, and why is this recommended for me?

  • "No umm,I I'll ah, ask someone in Russia, Uh, Uh, Expert please.. Oh" (Puts hands over face) "Oh I'm sorry Ghandi"

  • @TexasTeaDrums Hahah - what in the world?

  • Yea knowing in the future will get him thousands of dollars. blhabhaha

  • i thought mississippi girl cuz the others didnt sound right

  • you can figure it out. she's a southern singer and mississippi is the only southern state among the answers.

  • the timer is fucking bullshit.

  • I hate how Meredith always goes "Ohhh...." as if she actually cares.

  • Dumb Jew.

  • @Viktir666 they are made for a better use then you

  • @lazerlight2010 I wouldn't call "being shoved into ovens" a good use.

  • id take $3000

  • At least he got money...

  • @mecha03 your a genius

  • Time is lame... -.-

  • @mecha03 You are absolutely right, but get this, in the clock format in the UK, instead of being forced to walk, you would drop down to the last safe haven the contestant has past

  • THE ANSWER WAS SO FRECKIN EASY!

  • @puggylover19 Yeah easy for you, there's probably questions loads of people know but you don't.

  • @darthlewis1 hahaa owned him real nice ;)

  • @puggylover19 agree

  • fuk tht timer shit...it fucks with everyone

  • likewise meredith

  • im sorry but how the hell is faith hill and the name sounds like a battle ground like the battle of faith hill dont you think?

  • Oh Dear, seeing him run out of time on that question is bittersweet. I mean he flunked one of the first five questions, but still went home with $3,000. Huh, only like 1 contestant has every walked away in the first five questions.

  • whata fugly mofo

  • the host looks like a bitch at :36

  • st-st-st-stutter m-m-much?

  • Although I think the US clock of 2008-2010 and the current UK format shit all over Australia's hot seat format, one advantage with Hot Seat is that the answers appear one by one and the clock doesn't start until Eddie has read out the 4th answer.

That's what should've happenned in the US version and what should happen in the UK version. If it had been done that way, you wouldn't have scenarios where the host spends most of the countdown reading 4 lengthy answers (yes sometimes they're very long)

  • @bozza03 I kinda disagree about the UK version. Chris Tarrant reads the options really fast, sometimes I couldn't even understand what he said. Just my 2 cents.

  • C! C! C! Easy! :)

  • damn! now i feel bad for the kid :(

  • they should have a 2 or 3 strike rule

  • WTF is up with with the clock. It kind of ruins it.. not much time to think.

  • Minnesota girl

  • Audience Fail

  • If someone is a country singer, where the fuck in the US would you expect her to come from?

  • she should have warned him!

  • why do they have to have a clock format

  • California girlz?

  • The moment they added that stupid clock, the show lost 80% of it's charm

  • the clock is stupid. it doesnt help the contestant on any matter, but rather help PRESSURE the contestant even more

  • @chumtea1111 thats the idea u cock. its more exciting to watch rather than them spending five minutes on one question. speeds up the process and gives more contestants a chance. hope this helps

  • @b4rn35y im not a COCK. i was just simply expressing my opinion.. jeez

  • @chumtea1111 You're right, my bad. Muchos love :-) x

  • @mecha03 Thats good too becuz people will always run outta time.

  • Fucking host.

  • Why the fuck would they ask something so stupid? This is a worthless pop-culture question. I hate those. I pride myself on knowing close to nothing about pop-culture.

  • he shoulda grabbed a boob before he left

  • I think for clock purposes, the new money tree is better. But it has had a effect on how contestants tackle the new money tree.

  • California Gurlz. Lol

  • @mecha03 since when did they start doing a clock?

  • His face looks like an Aardvark's xD!

  • It's just me, but I don't like the clock idea. It's just...I know it speeds up the pace of the game, but in all honesty, as it speeds the pace of the game, it forces the contestants to read the questions a little too quickly, and we know what that does to some people.

I'm glad that if you run out of time, you at least keep the money won from the last question, that part I am pleased about.

  • @mtiller2006 The clock was added to speed up production

and end so tapings won't go on for hours. They also don't have to do as much editing in post-production.

  • @mtiller2006 Between this, the new money ladder and removal of the Phone a Friend lifeline, This show is making more and more cost cutting moves each season to make the game harder and will ultimately be cancelled bacause of it.

  • this countdown is quite unfair

  • I got that one right. It was so easy to me.

  • I like the way he handled it, very honourable of him.

  • What sucks is that if this took place this year, his request for the expert would have been fulfilled!

  • I think you still have to wait until AFTER the $5,000 question.

  • No you don't.

  • not really he took it well but if he didnt it would have been.

  • lol i new tht

  • @DSALAMM3 LMAO ! Understood!

  • well if you played more guitar hero you would know, they play the song alot

  • Its better than leaving with $0. At least he saved himself from being completely embarrassed.

  • 3000 dollar isnt nothing. Its good they changed it.

  • A woman tried to ask the expert for her $5000 question on today's show. Luckily, she still had a few seconds left when Meredith told her that she couldn't use it yet.

  • Damn. Well didnt leave empty-handed.

  • From 0:25 to 0:30...ROFLMAO!!!!

  • Man this guy should of knew this one. I knew the answer without even knowing anything about Faith Hill. I knew she was from the south and thats where most country singers are born. If I knew it, he should have known it. Then again he forgot that he doesn't get the expert lifeline until u get 2 the $5000 mark

  • Mississippi Girl was his hunch, just wasn't confident about it. I would have had absolutely no idea because I have no idea who Faith Hill is... so I wouldn't have been as hesitant in using a lifeline >_>

This seems like it would have been a better question to ask the audience on rather than the expert. Did he already use his audience lifeline?

  • Where have you been man under a rock...LOL!!! Faith Hill is a very famous country singer. She's one of the greatest of all time. She's been around since '93. Over 15 years. She was on the Billboard.

Yeah he used the audience on a previous question. I've seen this on tv the other day. I didn't think he would get far but damn. At least he didn't walk away with nothing

  • I don't really know anything about music, unfortunately.

And yes, I suppose it's a good thing that he tried to use a lifeline he didn't even have yet, rather than panic and pick an incorrect answer.

  • Wow r u serious!? U don't listen 2 music at all. I hate 2 say this, but u sound like a boring person What do u do on your spare time? So, if I were 2 ask u about Jay-Z, Beyonce, Kanye West, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Motorhead, or Kid Rock, u wouldn't know anything about them.

  • hey! i know him!

    nice job sargon!

  • sargon! its okay you are still awesome in my book.

  • lmao, he was so flustered, stop talking it wastes time. he was like ask mo rocca!!!!

  • Well look at it this way, he left with $3000. That's $1000 more than what the 6th question of the game used to be.

  • The thing that killed him was that he didn't know he didn't have 'Ask the Expert' yet.

  • Out of four lifelines, only three are available in Round One. 'Ask the Expert' is the one that *wasn't* on the table yet.

Ironically, that will change in January when 'Ask the Expert' becomes available on all 15 questions - but in return, the show is dumping the classic 'Phone a Friend' lifeline, citing expenses and what the producers call 'abuse' of that lifeline - we know it better as 'Googling'.

'SydnieBAM' - still controversial today, even while 'jumping the shark'.

  • I'd like to see a new lifeline show up that wouldn't have that big of a flaw.

  • Simple answer - 'Stop The Clock'.

It gets rid of the clock on any one question.

Con: Time left on the clock when STC is used does not get banked towards the $1M Question, as is currently the case with the first 14 questions.

Pro: STC allows you to answer with no time limit. Perfect for questions involving math and nursery rhymes. Also ideal for guest host episodes where Meredith's understudy takes ten out of your 15 seconds reading the four answers.

    Support STC Today! : )

  • @BritCanuck - Im from the UK and seen a lot of clips of this new format in the US like the graphics but the clock does suck! Our host (THEEE ORIGINAL HOST) often says "take your time" or "take as long as you need"

  • Cheapskate?

  • Now that I think about it - you're right. I think it was just due to the fact that alot of people (including myself) thought he was going home with zero.

  • I was in the audience for this episode. It was very awkward... at first he thought he was walking away with nothing, but then they checked the rules, and I guess they've changed them for this year. Although nothing was really explained to us!

Millionaire is a great show to see in person, if you ever get the chance.

  • He took it pretty well, at least.

  • Walking away with $3,000 is sure better than nothing...

  • Faith Hill is a country singer. It should have been obvious that she might have lived in MS.

  • First $3,000 winner!

  • Yeah, that's actually the first person I've seen other than the several contestants who have left empty-handed, who has left with less money than the value of the fifth question.

  • Do you know who else?

  • He's probably the first to ever run out of time on the first five questions

  • Finally, the upping of the values proved as a collateral with the clock.

  • These people need to get rid of the clock and do it for good.

  • You can hear the contestant say "oh shit" at 0:29

  • $3,000 is not bad regardless.

  • 1. He's lucky that this wasn't the old money tree or else he would have $500!

    2. He's only the second person ever to walk away (first out of time) on one of the first five questions (It happened once in 2005, but that was a willful walk.)

  • Yeah it was on the $500 question back then, walking away with $300

  • yeah he would have left with $500 if the money tree never changed
