  • Its not the Traveling wilburys, its Ringo Star Featuring 3 of the Wilburys

  • those were not the travelling wilburys... george is not there and neither is bob dylan... just petty and lynne...

  • where is george?

  • who's playing the slide line?

  • I am a big Beatles fan and I agree with the person who said they like this version with Ringo singing it even better than the Beatles version and that is something I would not say too often! Ringo's voice fits this song really well. Of course it's great to get Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty along with Jim Keltner and Joe Walsh to play on the song and be in the video. I think Jeff Lynnne may have produced this as well.

  • Brilliant transition at 1min:13sec

  • You gotta like Joe Walsh slidin' on that flame top Les Paul!

  • @buster757 - is that Joe? or Albert Lee?

  • @RaysTrack I did some research and yes it is Joe. Great sound

  • drums....smashin. nose...check....shades....check. all systems go

  • We all luv Ringo!!! Yes?? :)

  • I love Ringo

  • nicely sung! You're the star

  • Its more like Ringo Starr featuring the Wilburys. Not all of them, but 2 of them. Ringo even did a commercial for the new Traveling wilburys compilation released in 2007.

  • Technically this isnt the traveling wilburys because the traveling wilburys was George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty.

  • Where was George for this?

  • More cowbell!

  • More cowbell!

  • Love the swing in Ringo's arms as he drums and love Keltner's subtle cowbell - he''s always cool - & the epic Jeff Lynne, so underrated. Not to mention Petty - who knew he could hold his weight with the other Wilburys? I guess I underrated him! But where's the heart and soul of the Wilburys - G. Harrison? And the voice of the wilburys - Orbison? And the hipcat of the Wilburys, Dylan? Guess this isn't the Wilburys, it's Ringo and friends. Still, I wouldn't have seen it without the Wilburys tag.

  • MORE COWBELL!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @littlepigeon123

That was Jim Keltner on the bell!! One of the most premier session drummers of his time.

  • @777jonah888 on the back of the harrison album "Living In the material world", when it first came out.....George had a dig at Paul McCartney's album which had a message on the back telling the album buyer to write to the "wings fun club".....harrison had "join the Jim keltner fan club" and gave an address in california. I wrote to it....months went by and nothing....then one day out of the blue in the mail I got a button that said "jim keltner fan club.........I may still have that button

  • @inkey2

Hey friend, thats great!! I ran across Jim Keltner for the first time while reading the insert of Harrison's' Cloud Nine'. That is a fantastic piece of work and brought Jeff Lynne and George together for the first time on vinyl I believe. ELO is my favorite band and has been since I saw them in the summer of 78 with the big spaceship stage touring for 'Out of the Blue'. Have you seen Concert for George? Jim is there with all the rest. I love his laid back style...........Later

  • @littlepigeon123 agree

  • this is so kool! all my faves in one space musically!

  • I love this Jeff is a god to me and this is so cool.I did not know of this vid and it was a treat!!!!!!!

  • The Original Cow Bell song.

  • big fan of the original and can`t see anyone beaten it but this is pretty good for a cover, having ringo singing it is always a bonus.

  • Ringo Starr - I Call Your Name (with Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Joe Walsh & Jim Keltner)

NOT the Wilburys. but a very nice Lennon Tribute Thumbs up for the nice post.

  • Call me an eclectic kook, but I liked Ringos stuff most. George was next, Paul then John(except for his anti Christian stuff...Georges, too.). Still, all talented men.

  • @Velocity9s anti chritian stuff... yes he rocked a few walls. Not enough, evidently.

  • More Cowbell!!!!!

  • What a treat to hear Ringo sing an old John favorite. Then as now, nice ska break!

  • i actually like this version than the beatles one. ringos voice fits it perfectly imo

  • This isn't the Wilburys. It's Ringo's All Stars. He pulled together All Star bands for about five years running during the 90's and aughts.

OF COURSE Joe Walsh plays slide. Always has. Listen again to Rocky Mountain Way and Life in the Fast Lane among many others.

  • joe walsh playing slide never new that till I saw this

  • not the willburys, more rubbish advertising on you crap

  • If Ringo frowns, it looks SO klingon :)

  • Ringo has always been Mr. Consistency... nothing flashy, but a rock-solid beat that you can set your watch to.

  • More like Ringo Starr Featuring the Traveling Wilburys. Sort of.

  • @10995 Yes,, another Ringo Starr All Star band.

  • @alanvking exactly

  • That's not the traveling Wilburys ...Just Ringo with friends ...it happens to be there Jeff and Tom ...Ringo was wearing that awful wig at the time ...then he got a better implant years after ...

  • Hey.... Who's that playing the slide guitar? G.E.Smith?

Sorry Joe I could'nt resist LOL Peace and love

    Todd the 12 string King...

  • @Xmenfan246 and dont forget the Otherside of Liverpool

  • where's George?

  • needed more cowbell

  • They should record another Wilburys cd with Paul & Ringo.

  • @gatorcarter Now you're talkin' !

  • Keltner regulated to cowbell duties??!! funny, but i think thats Thee Bruce Dickinson behind the glass, yelling for more cowbell!

  • @mherrenschmidt Relegated. yeah, it's pretty funny! :-)

  • what a great world band.. yeah Ringo always had a great voice, often underused. We have great music to always enjoy..

  • whos playing slide guitar? 1:10

  • @dumbdogsdontbark Joe Walsh.

  • Ringo is wearing John's glasses!

  • is it chris rea on the cowbell?

  • @herrfiebig Jimmy Keltner, the Wilbury's drummer.

  • What's Michael Douglas doing in the end? Is this part of a documentary?

  • @cmtehori

Yes, a John Lennon tribute show, made in 1991.

  • Is that Tom Petty on the bass? Why? How?

  • @BlueRednGrey He played bass too...as there where a lot of guitarrist on the traveling wilburys the group needed a bassist... and he did

  • @BlueRednGrey

    Yes, that's Tom Petty. He's a friend of Ringo's, that's why. He's a good musician, that's how.

  • What an ugly wig! Come on Ringo, you don't need it.

  • @straightupwv worse, that's NOT a wig....

  • @judecreek2 What ever it is, it looks like it crawled up there and died.

  • ...ok...thumb up...but this from the ringo starr solo album...this is not "The Travelling Wilburys"...it´s nice...but nothing more...

  • LOL Ringo was my favorite when they came out. I had my room and BED wallpapered with him and went in to serious mourning when he got married...but even back then I knew he was always off the note JUST A LITTLE BIT....great backup drummer, in the pocket. I love this band!!!!

  • @karenofbethany Off the note? Ringo has a nice distinct voice. Just listen to The Beatles songs "Boys" and "Matchbox."

  • Tribute to a genius--such a tremendously talented guy--John Lennon--very cool

  • i don't know the chronalogical history off by heart...but had George passed on by this song?...cause why isnt he there...maybe its about George but just relates to John aswell....

  • These are SOME Wilbury's, as opposed to THE Wilbury's.... Cool nonetheless!

And I got to say, with all due respect to everybody's personal opinion... I dont think Joe Walsh is ever out of place! lol

  • @DangerousBastard There is always room for Walsh my friend!

  • i love you ringo! rip mr. lennon your my hero!

  • where's George? thought he was part of the Wilburys

  • Not the Wilburys. Sorry if it's already been posted.

  • Wilburrys 4 ever!

  • smell like hash

  • I think the real star in this is actually Jeff Lynne's production, strange, usually I can't pick that sort of thing.

  • @lyrandar01 I agree with you

  • Not bad...for Ringo

  • We need another group like this, or have the guys that are left get back together

  • sweet...sweet... as a honey pie :-)))

  • this isn't the Wilburries- this is Rory Storm and the Hurricanes band- which existed before the Beatles and how Ringo became well known and the Beatles invited Ringo based on seeing him in this band

  • @QueenBeatlesWings yes its the wilburys and the beatles were about the same time has rory storm

  • The Traveling Wilburys were a great band that no one knows about anymore, but they rock! The band had some of the greatest rock musicians in the world!

  • wheres bob n george

  • Which one is Joe Walsh?

  • @newsreach Joe Walsh wasn't a Wilbury and I don't think he is on this track. George appears to play slide=

, Bob isn't seen - maybe he was at joe's house?

  • @bobmon54 Nope. That's Joe. I don't know why they brought him in. I like Joe, but that just didn't fit in here. Marc Mann would have done a good job.

  • They probably brought him in because of the "statement" he makes by being there: True talent, Doesn't care what anyone thinks, knows his talent (along with the rest of that group) blows away the shit people think is music today, yet, he would never even think in that way. It's just "known." :) And I know that YOU know exactly what I mean.

  • @thebird55 Joe walsh is ringos brother in law, so maybe that is why he is there. Plus a great guitarist.

  • @stonycurtis101 Ringo's voice did not have a great range like John or Paul. But his voice was perfect for country/rockabilly songs. For example, The Beatles' Act Naturally,Matchbox, What Goes On, and Honey Don't. Listen to Ringo's solo songs: Beaucoups of Blues, Love Don't Last Long, Waiting, Fastest Growing Heartache In The West, Woman Of The Night.

  • @Xmenfan246 Gotcha, yep. Double tracking adds as well.

  • great, but its not traveling wilburys!

  • @joriszsz 3 or4 out of 5- how many rhythm guitar players do you need for a video- Roy, may have already been dead but really- who cares- they are great friends to the end and we a are lucky to ever see them. Band names are useless after a point don't you think?

  • This is NOT the Traveling Wilburys!!!

  • i love that lead guitar line...

  • Talk about Super Groups add them to Cream. ELP, CSN&Y and so many others

  • Why does Joe Walsh seem to keep his face off camera?

That's another great rock drummer, Jim Keltner, playing cow bell.

  • @jimlaregina I knew that was Joe.

    Nobody slides like Joe

  • @jimlaregina If he did it deliberately, it had to be for legal reasons... such is the way of the music biz.

  • Must have been very sunny there :)

  • Love it!

  • Ringo Did a Fine job Indeed for his Friend John. Check Out Petty on the Base Far out man!!. I love the Video. I'll Bet that's a Fun group to be in. Petty should talk more he's always a great interview. Thanks for the music.

  • This is not the Traveling Wilburys or the All-Starr Band. It's from a television tribute to John.

  • @MuzzikLvr who cares they sound great

  • needs more cowbell... lmao great song, ringo is a great dumme/singer

  • Ringo have a good voice

  • @majaable Yes he have. Have you?

  • @28if No i cannot sing...lol..

  • @majaable If that is a question, I say no.

  • @majaable and a huge nob!

  • @majaable nice!

  • Bloody good video. A couple of the Wilburies are present....

  • @lancemckellar They're all there except for Dylan, Harrison, and Orbison. Ringo is an honorary Wilbury.

  • Micheal Douglas just fucking shows up with his goddamn stinken mullet at the end

  • Es de verdad una versión maravillosa; el carisma de Ringo es insuperable y nos sigue dando más y más cada día. Gracias Ritchie! ESCORPIO.-

  • Little does everyone know......Ringo is wearing John Lennon's 1980sunglasses!

  • Best version ever!

  • Ringo catches loads of grief... Ive always admired him for being himself. He is a genuine person even under the weight of being what he has been. That's incredible to me.

He has considerable musical skill, but I think that he is best at being a good person. Wish he would collaborate more.

  • I couldn't agree more.

  • That's George Harrison's Son

  • this are no the travelin wilburys. but i don care, great video

  • Where are George Harrison on this clip?

Is George the man with the blue sweater or not?

  • Joe Walsh?

  • It's ringo starr!

  • More Cowbell !!!!

  • hah

  • @mcflymitch JIM KELTNER ON COWBELL!!! YES! THE MASTER! he played drums for the traveling wilburys and lots of other stuff by those guys

  • This isn't the Wilburys, although it does feature Tom and Jeff

  • George Harrison was actually a very good solo player.. The Beatles were great... This solo is very simular to the solo George played with The Beatles.. R.I.P. George...

  • @evjohn1911 You're right! He was an excellent solo player!

  • George Harrison was actually a very good solo player... The Beatles were great...

  • love this its sooo cool

  • Yeah,Joe Walsh, no doubt. He was member of the All Starrs in teh late 80s. This is like the "Travelling Starrs", lol

  • Original bass part (McCartney's) was driving quarter notes in the verse and walked in the solo. This is okay but doesn't touch the original...

  • Astonished to find this! One of my favorite Beatle songs ever.

So nice to find Ringo singing it! John must be smiling. Who is the lead player here. I've never been able to quite figure out the guitar for this gem (the original) God bless Ringo! Gotto love him, eh?

    Thanks for posting

  • Dead Mate, that's the tragedy of it......

The instigator of the band.... So he's probably jamming with Roy

  • Where is George?

  • Ringo does a pretty good job on a song originally recorded with John singing the lead and made popular also by the Mamas and the Papas.

  • not that big of a fan of ringo starr's singing, still cool video.

  • Needs more cowbell !!

  • @Monkberry50 Oh no! Not the Cowbell..........again! Ha ha ha

  • @Monkberry50 Jim Keltner is wasted on cowbell!

  • @DasGoldenBoy I play both rhythm and lead cowbell

  • Very Cool

  • This is the All-Starr Band, not the TWs.

  • you know, I was wondering why this was labeled as The Traveling Wilburys, Ringo wasn't part of that band. Yeah I remember the All-Stars!

  • I see Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty on bass...but there's another guitarist...I don't know who that is - anybody know??

  • George Harrison

  • No...it's not George Harrison...I think it's Joe Walsh. George wasn't playing at that time.

  • It's Ringo's Brother in Law Joe Walsh!

  • Thank you, that's what I thought!

  • @mtut Actually it's both, except for Jeff Lynne. He was not in any of the all Starr bands.

  • @mtut

Yeah, Good Song, but Ringo wasn't a Wilbury!

Jim Keltner was "Buster" Wilbury , maybe Ringo was "Fingers"!

I have this VHS John Lennon tribute (from Amazon used), was this Beatle cover ever on CD?

  • @MiKikaIwaShizaru Buster Sidebury

  • Great sing, but it's not the Wilburys!

  • It's many of them, including Buster Sidebury.

  • yes, three of the wilburys

  • Ringo rocks at singing!!

  • I Call your Name From Paris. And, everywhere else.

    P.

  • I really like the original version of I Call Your Name, but this really fits Ringo's voice. This would have been a great track for him to sing lead on.

  • ringo, monster of bateri

  • I wish he sang as good as he looks ;)

  • this song was played while i was at the bowling alley with a big group of friends

we all started singing it! XD

    awesome song =) and i bowled a 140 P=

  • Sun glasses must of been a big deal in the 80's

  • @Ricky91993

... Yepppp... in the 80s the guys were born with them ...hahaha

... Was very popular... and most of those guys from that era still wear them but on top of their heads... at least they know were they put it.....haaaa :-)))

  • Ringo Starr to me just reminds me of comedy.i just cant take him serious like the rest of the fab four

  • Gotta love Ringo!

  • beatles the best group in the history.why not the greatest among artists of the 20 century
