i know where this soldier is coming from ,i was also in bosnia at the same time ,im angry that im not dead and often break down crying for no reason at all. i went to see a councillor and it was the same questions over and over and felt he couldnt help me , but ive suffered in silence ,lost my marriage and this really is my first time telling someone because i dont want people thinking im mad or some freak when i jump at times to silly things ,i just keep thinking about why wasnt i dead already

this is so sad that I laughed. i did a year in bosnia and now i live by a firing range LOL i know its not funny but its so ironic it cracks me up

I've been living with Post Traumatic Stress for 10yrs and it's only one month since I've been diagnosed with the condition. I have an idea of how he feels, but everyone is different. It's not all about flash backs and nightmares. You don't trust anyone, you can't bond with people, your constantly on high alert incase something bad happens. I've managed this alone for so long that the doctors are worried that its become part of my personality. If u think u have post traumatic stress TELL SOMEONE!

I know what your mean. I dont have ptsd from war but from other situations. Ive been in my house for the past 6 months and i dont trust anyone and dont ave anymore freinds. Just acouple now adays. Meditaion has helped me so much im almost healed. Ive been meditating for the past 2 months and its been acomplete 180.

Why doesn't he seek sheltered accommodation with a charity? The RBL and Army Benovolent fund would be able to help.
