I got into multiple arguments with a friend around '05 - '06 about this very thing. When at the end of these arguments there was the opportunity my friends would pull me away and hand me a beer, that opportunity occurred only when we both agreed, "yes we did invade Iraq to loot the country", and he would say: "so, what's wrong w/ that?" Naomi's definition of Capitalism is anything that involves a non-government entity. She confuses Capitalism with Fascism or coopertaism. In all her years of research she couldn't even bother to learn what Capitalism is? or how free markets really work? It's the least she could have done before she started to use the term "Capitalism" so many times. Naomi is just another one of those socialists who wrote the final chapter in her book before she began to write the rest of it.

Naomi Klein is a fucking liar with no sense of history. Just read Jonah Norberg's (Cato Institute) essay "The Rise of Disaster Polemics", and you'll see what I mean. He rips apart her distortion of Friedman and shows her to be full of it. There never was any "shock doctrine" by Friedman. She bases that on one phrase in an intro in his book which means the opposite of what she says.

The most prosperous countries are true socialist/liberal countries. Look to Scandinavia. But the "prosperity" is shared not limited to the two percent.
