@misscrosby87qc actually the blizzard hit long island that night so nobody wanted to risk there life, and the tickets do cost a lot on LI, plus the economy is really bad on LI. So learn some facts please.
I flew to NY from Quebec City in the morning of Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010. What a treat to share an evening supporting the Isles and the Nords with the awesome fans of Long Island!!! The locals welcomed us with open arms and it was a great gesture to post "Welcome Quebec City residents" on the board in the second period. NY, I will never forget your hospitality at Nassau Coliseum. You are awesome! Long live the Islanders in Long Island, and let's bring back the Nordiques (& Whalers & Jets)!
@SupraJacques its no conspiracy that Quebec is looking to take someones NHL team. The Quebec fans themselves respond to me on Facebook and say they want to take the Thrashers from Atlanta. Its obvious there will be no expansion in the current state of the NHL where a third of the league is struggling to survive. I'm not saying you guys don't deserve a team but the first fight should be to get your team back from Colarado. The second fight should be to take a bankrupt team like Phoenix.
In 1995 we lost the Quebec Nordiques. We're still mourning our loss. We certainly want a team back, but since we know how painful it is to lose a team, we don't wish that on any hockey fans. Thank you for the warm welcome at Nassau Coliseum; I'm rooting for the Isles until the Nordiques come back.
@NYFan77 ''the first fight should be to get your team back from Colorado .'' Don't take it bad, but that is one of the stupidest thing I've read so far . The league won't move a team that is making profits to the city where it came from 15 years ago just because Quebec's fans want a team back . Colorado deserve to keep the Avs . The fight is to get a team back, and we will take witch ever team that becomes available . We don't want specifically the Trashers, but they are the most likely to move
quebec owns this place. remember that game last year when a massive blizzard hit nyc and dc and there were more habs fans at the coliseum then isles-supporters :-)
Shame on you Islanders,Trashers and Coyotes FANS! Where are you??? Your arena are fking empty and the crowd is boring! The tickets are cheap! The business men are losing money in ...your town! Nobody goes to the games. If the Nordiques fans didnt go to the game the assistance would have been 9 000 people!! Can you believe it?? This is pathetic! It's time to wake up! You dont realize the chance you have so TAKE IT and go to the games!! Take care of your team and MAKE SOME NOISE!! BE PROUD!!
@GumbyQc Thanks I know what the news says. I have read every article all night but I want to know the truth behind it. I know Quebec has wanted there team back for a long time but I find it hard to believe they organized this 22 bus loads of fans to come to Long Island without someone else being in on it (Maybe the Islanders Owner Charles Wang)
@NYFan77 -- Charles Wang has nothing to do with all this. Beside Vincent Cauchon and local radio station CHOI-FM, the only help came from " Reve Sportif ". Since 2005, they organize trips to allow the poeple of Quebec to live the atmosphere of the best sporting event (not only hockey : also for baseball, basketball, football, ...).
@NYFan77 It's not important what you believe or not ... What is important is the facts. They have been reported, it has been widely publicized. Your story is nonsense. Conspiracy theories, is completely ridiculous.
@NYFan77 Just love for Hockey friend, just love for Hockey. No need to have a Wang behind... We just love Hockey and can pay any price to express ourselves at a good match. Like US people do for football or basketball, our love for Hockey is the same. When the radio station started that promotion, they expected 2 or 3 buses. !
@NYFan77 In less than a day they had over 20 buses loades and could not find anymore available in Quebec. Over 200 persons went in New-York with their own car because no more buses were availables... All the remaining in your head is just the fact that it seem unbeleivable that people love so much the best sport in the world, HOCKEY
Who paid these people from Quebec to come down to Long Island and do this? I was there last night and it was a circus! I hope Charles Wang did not do this. Garry Bettman should have an investigation into this!
@NYFan77 Nobody paid them. They decided to make a road trip and go to a hockey game. Wear their Nordiques stuff. They thought there would have been 2 or 3 bus but they had 400 people + 250 people on a list and the list was growing. Everybody wanted to go to NY! It was so easy to get the tickets because your arena is empty!
@cybersocko -- Are you blind or just nut ? They stopped a moment as that happened. The reason why they started to yell BEFORE that player was hurt : 15min = 15 years since the Nordiques quits Quebec city. That's the »only« reason.
@cybersocko yeah what the fuck listen to the guy talking he exactly said why they yelled and when they saw someone on the ice they were like ooohh fuck lets boo! lol:P they didnt do that to be mean or anything why can't you see that they are passionate about hockey and they only want a team and they do it the way they can! a trip to atlanta would be too far so they went to new york maybe theyll go to new jersey next time

How much did the entire trip costs? It has to be at least 5 game tickets worth.

No one got paid to go there. It was organised mostly by a radio station in Quebec City and everyone bought their travel package.

That's real classy. There's a player hurt on the ice and all the Nordiques care about is themselves.
