This youtube video was the main reason I bought the AS103 yesterday. I was thinking of buying AS87 (really good guitar). I know, the two guitars are very similar and are capable of producing the same sound, but the sheer beauty of 103 adds so much to the overall experience. This guitar will make you forget all your trouble. It's that good :)

how do i use a computer to record me playing aswell as plug my guitar pod x3 to the computer and have the webcam record the sound aswell as the movie of me playing?

What software do you use and how do u use it to record sound from pod x3 and movie of you playing?

Hey wicksie. Unfortunetly I have no tabs. I tried out by listening to the metheny original. But it´s an easy chord progression:

C G a F, the lead is impriovisation in the style of the original. Thanks for your comment

Welche Gitarren hattest du bei deiner Wahl denn noch in Erwägung gezogen bzw. als vergleich herangezogen.

Würdest du den Grundcharakter der Gitarre mehr als ...harsch und spritzig ( weniger im negativen Sinne ) oder mehr als sanft, weich etc. beschreiben.

das mit den Umschreibungen ist zwar immer eine weit dehnbare und zweifelhafte Sache aber vlt. kannst du dazu ja etwas sagen.

Und hast du evtl. Erfahrungen mit der af 105 oder 125

Als Semihollow-Vergleich hatte ich eine Ibanez as 73 eine AF oder AG 85. Im Vergleich zu den AF/AG´s ist sie vielfältiger auch für die härterere Gangart gut geeignet, während die AG´s deutlich jazz- bzw- blueslastiger sind. Ton ist je nach Einstellung des Tonreglers und Pickups zwischen weicher und bissiger. In jedem Fall deutlich lebendiger als die AS 73. Es geht nichts über einen Test. Ton ist einfach sehr subjektiv.

Ich finde jedoch dass der Leadpart ein wenig mehr Offenheit und Transparents im Sound hätte vertragen können.

kannst du mir einen gefallen tun und einwenig genauer auf die Klangeigenschaften dieser Gitarre eingehen ...habe sie auch ins Auge gefasst.

Heimatgebiet der Gitarre ist Blues, Jazz und Rock. Weniger geeignet für hardgesottene Metal-Fans.

Ich finde, sie kann für alle Richtungen eingesetzt werden für die eine Gibson 335 auch denkbar wäre.

Die Verarbeitung ist absolut großartig, ich habe nie eine schönere und besser verarbeitete Gitarre besessen. Die Bespielbarkeit ist ebenfalls sehr gut.

sounds like you were overworking your sound card at the first part on low notes, but sounds galactic on the high notes. Cool. Pat Metheny makes good sounds.

You're using the POD X3 Live, right? Would you mind telling me what the settings are to produce this awesomely beautiful tone?

I´m using a Pod X3. Amp: Line6 clean with 48 bass 24 mid 27 treble 59 presence 0 drive 100 vol.,compresor with -20 db thresh and 6 db gain, a stereo square chorus with 0,10 HZ and the large hall reverb. Thats it.

It´s important to turn down the treble on your neck pickup to zero.

It´s an ibanez AS 103 SM.

It´s a real beauty with a higly flamed spalted maple top and real wooden bindings and tone/volume knobs. It has a great sound. Some time i will upload a video just to show the guitar.

i use the usb out from the pod x3 and record with fruity loops software without any effects. All effects are from the pod. But even with audacity i can get decent results.
