I think you vevo haters need a lesson in reality. When someone pays for something, it's theirs. The labels that paid for the cost of recording the songs and accompanying videos own them. They get to promote them however they want, and if they choose to do that through this youtube channel, that's up to them. If they make their money back, that artist has a chance to make another album/video, etc. If a business can't recoup its expenses, it can't survive - hence, no more videos.

Personally, I'd rather watch videos like this than some kid playing guitar (poorly) for his webcam.

There is a year's worth of YouTube videos uploaded every day. If nobody's paying for it, which is usually through advertising, then who will? 15-30 seconds of advertisements before some videos is a small price to pay for keeping a site like this around.
