  • This was the first game I ever owned or the C64. I picked it out the day we bought our C64. I was about nine years old, I think. We had other computers and game systems before that, though.

  • @lucylovesguitar What computers/games systems did you own before the Commodore 64? I had the Commodore Vic20, Timex Sinclair 1000, Atari 2600, 5200, and before the 2600, a dedicated (no carts) Atari Video Pinball/Breakout console. I also had an Intelliviaion & Magnavox Odyssey 2, but can't remember if I had the before or after the C64. I love that there are emulators for all these vintage systems, so you can play them on your PC.

  • First video game I ever owned. Dear God, I feel old now...

  • I loved this game!! Except the music drove you crazy after a while.

  • HOLY CRAP! been trying to remember this game forever! man i was sooooo little playing this. Could never remember the name!

  • It's close calls like the one at 5:14 that really made this game for me. I played this game so much I could close my eyes and still see it. I played this game so much that I beat it... okay, i didn't beat it, but I got to the levels after these levels where you were permanently at slower and the enemies were at double speed. And I beat one level like that, thanks to gratuitous star screen and burning through the lives I had left.

  • This one is best left forgotten :)

  • It's a poor port of Rally X which was a charming little arcade game

  • Does anyone have video of BLUEPRINT?!

  • I always thought the cheese resembled a Knight chess piece.

  • I had forgotten about this game. This video sure has jogged my memory.

    Thanks!

    BTW nice score.

  • my first game :) great memories

  • the best game ........THX

  • Had this game too. Actually, it's a copy of Rally-X, but instead of the car catching flags, you are a mouse collecting cheese.

  • I loved this game when I was a kid.

is there anyway of downloading it for a MAC?

  • Google on "Vice c64", a freeware C64 emulator. Then Google on "radar rat race t64" to find the program you can run using Vice... voila.

  • I remeber almost breaking my old Commodore 64 joystick trying to out manuever those rats !!!!! Ahhhh good times !!!

  • I just came to hear the music, but was thrilled to see such a masterful performance as well.

  • Oh my god! 27 years after I've played with that game, I still remember the track by heart in every single detail!!

    :)

  • Wow! I have a new found respect for my parents, who somehow managed to stay sane despite being tortured with this horrid music for hours on end.

  • God damn this music makes me want to kill myself, or someone else

  • This was one of my first VIC-20 games and I got so addicted to it back then, and when my cousin played it she screamed so loud everytime she'd hit a rat or cat or even just get close to a cat, she could be heard two blocks away (there were wide open spaces at our neighborhood then), and woke up our next-door neighbor. Ah the memories!

  • This looks more like a Vic-20 game.

  • New Rally X with mic-..I mean rats?

    Seems fun though.

  • Must have been one of the first C64 games ever released - the programmers at that stage didn't know jack shit about how to program it!

  • Oh dear Jesus H Christ I cant listen to this lol

  • I just burned those tones in my head..

  • i had the cartridge version of this game and played it constantly for 2 weeks while waiting for disk drive to be replaced,

  • The noise!!!!!!!!! augghhhhh.....

  • aah shit...this sound is driving me crazy ;P

  • Do do do do do lo do do do... GAH! Strike me down.

  • omg best game EVEEEER

  • Man does this game bring back memories! I remember if any of the mice followed too close behind you the star screen would not work.

  • There was also a Vic20 version

  • Without a doubt, the coolest game in existance!!!

  • hahah oh man this must be the very first computer game I played. I can still remember the simple tune it had. I also had it as candrig that you plug in to c64, not the caset tape type.

  • Cool. I remember that my best friend at the time had this game. Brings back a lot of memories!

DerSchmu: I surgest that you also make a longplay about the game: Impossamole

which was yet another of the cool sequal to monty mole :-)

  • At the moment I try to play the games after there chronogical releasedates. Impossamole could be takes a while :D

  • Sure. :-)

    ill be patient.
