So he debuted in Thailand in 2008 first? At that time do pple already know he was going to be in Korea as a singer?

Before he became 2pm, he was on korean idol trainee show. At that time it seemed to me his identity was American. He said he's from America not Thailand. But now he seems to consider himself Thai. His thai sounds perfect i don't understand Thai though ^^ When he speaks English he has Thai accent . And a few months ago, he got even confused Korean with English HaHa. That's was cute though.

@serendipitypsh He was born in California to Thai father and Half Thai/Chinese Mother. At the age of two, his parents moved them all back to Thailand and he attends early education in Thailand. By the age of 12, he went to New Zealand to study for a year and a half and then moved back to the States to continue his schooling. After high school he was coaching badminton at another high school.

@serendipitypsh it is during this time that he was discovered by JYP @ a k-pop music Festival. So given his living history, he would be speaking English a long side Thai.

Also now he speaks Korean and Chinese also.. it could be that he may get confused sometime hahahaha plus it is hard to get rid of accent no matter how good one English may be, in some cases.

I still find it amazing that he can transition from Thai to English to Korean. What's awesome is that he ranked English being his most comfortable language to speak in, and yet he is so fluent in Thai!

@kikyo4ever he ranked english to be number 1 in most comfortable. most fluent would be thai because he lived in thailand until age 12

@pirateXhunterXzoro Hmmm..I don't know. It doens't feel like that to me because he speak Thai soooo good. Look at how he talked, so freely in Thai (so comfortable) and compare that to how and when he speak English. You could tell the difference. You could tell that he's better with Thai. When he speak English, sometime his pronunciation was off. I think he say English was because he could used it to talk with people who can't speak his mother language.

well Nichkhun was famous in Thailand before he debuted as a member of 2pm

2pm having nichkhun in their group has made the band's popularity increase by a lot because his fans in thailand followed him to korea (not literally, but yeah... as in they support him)

and he's actually half thai and half chinese, and was born in America... but he moved to Thailand when he was young, then moved back to the US to study

Just curious why does the industry seem to prefer Thai people who don't look Thai as celebrities?

I don't get it....the ''IN'' thing seems to be people who look Korean that are considered beautiful.

There are many light skinned people in Thailand. A majority are very fair skinned. Thai people are cut into two basic skin types anyways, dark or light and it doesn't really matter which one since both types have people that are equally famous.

I don't think it's the 'IN' thing that you have to look Korean to be considered beautiful.. There are many other celebs in the world who are considered very beautiful and they look nothing like Korean...

he's actually full thai, but he have chinese descent. a very common thing for chinese-looking thai people in thailand.
