  • Well yes and no. In general you are correct, it depends where the ventricular escape beat is coming from. If the escape beat is high in the Bundle then the beat would be narrow. If the escape beat comes from low in the purkinje system then the beat will be wide. I have a online, animated and narrated ECG tutorial at richacls dot com The online class is not complete but the basics are there.

  • one question: ought the ventricular complexes in 3rd degree HB be wider?  They appear identical (even perhaps narrower) to the QRS in sinus bradycardia, for example.

    Please correct me if I'm wrong - would love to learn something new!
