china has much to gain and little to loose really, the worst case scenario is having everything fall back to what it was like in the 1980s. Sure it would be unpleasant, but survivable. Now for wealthy western countries who haven't experienced a great depression since the 1930s, that could be alot harder.
@Kaskeyable The problem is that most chinese don't have disposable income like middle class so there is going to be limited domestic market. For at least the next 1 or 2 decades that will be the case. The people that have achieved that status isn't even near 10% of the population.
@redwhitedude your absolutely wrong you didn't even study chinese economy development, china economy relies more heavily on domestic demand, even The world is going to be more reliant on Chinese growth, all world bussines people or all world companies growth is in china, if you ask any company around the world ceo's where its revenue come from it says china, this country is world growth engine 1.4 billion people imagin.
@Kaskeyable I do acknowledge that China has more of a domestic market but that is limited due to average income of people. Right now China has succeed in establishing itself as a lowcost producer but what about other areas that require more quality? That's their work ahead. It is a relatively unexploited market that's why you see crazy growth. How many Chinese have yet to own cars, PCs, or cell phones?
@redwhitedude if you interested this country's economic expenssion spend some of your time there than you understand what is going on, last three years china car market sold 47 milion car One third of world car market,, half of them is luxury car.
@redwhitedude have you been to china recently? u should my friend.. you might actually learn something. there is a old chinese saying "风水轮流转" its just the way it is... who knows maybe another 100 years later, we might be colonised by the eskimos. in the mean time, it'll be a good idea to pick up Chinese.
@redwhitedude world is changing graphicaly China has passed the U.S. to become the world's biggest personal-computer market in 2010, China in 2009 surpassed the U.S. to become the world's largest auto market,China is the world’s largest smartphone market by volume during the third quarter of 2011, according to WSJ, marking a new epicenter for the global mobile computing boom, ,low-cost product and better quality thats what china highlights last 3 years,
@redwhitedude every item you use is made in china wether cloths you wear, tv,pc phone tablet or modem devise, you can complain if you get poor goods from china to the walmart simple.
@redwhitedude Please do not write crap based on your zero-sum way of thinking or some of american failure economist media’s propaganda and biast report about world economy, if you need more information go vacation china spend few months there every single year if you not you end up brainwashed people who know nothing what is going on about world economy, Americans are being left behind
@Kaskeyable Ignorant americans would believe that the Chinese will take over the world if I went purely by american alarmist propaganda. This is hardly the case, China is till lagging behind. I do see that China has been making progress but let's face it. There is still significant population that is relatively poor. Only recently urban population has exceed rural population. Average income in China has quite a long way to go to approach decent levels. China is significant for its size.
@redwhitedude let me remind you, don't compare china other aging economy like europe or america china is developing country and will continue this position till other remaining population bring to the cities and their economy stil premature now urban population is 850 milion people who drive Global Economy Out of Recession and china will continue bigger driver of global growth next 30 years
@Kaskeyable unfortunately comparisons can't be helped. When people wonder about what is a developed economy, they look at the west and use that as a yardstick. Despite all the advances China is still relatively early in its development. Deng xiaoping stated in the 90's that China needed a good 50 years of development to achieve the status of a developed country.
@redwhitedude i agree fully that is going some time te become developed country but now we are talking market size china is the largest market in the world every commodity all world growth heading china thats what we seen.
@Kaskeyable As more people get better pay the market will increase. A lot of the miserable wages being paid to chinese workers, that used to be the case with Korea in the 70s and Japan in the 50s.
@Kaskeyable China is significant for its size overall there not there yet in terms of quality. I'd be hardpressed to name chinese brands that are at the level of Toyota or Hyundai. You cite numbers but what about quality?
@redwhitedude world's biggest companies, or 500 fortune megazine 85 is chinese, japan is 81, america is 98, the others is rest of the world, ask google you can get chinese largest corporation there.
@Kaskeyable Ah yes the fortune 500. Unfortunately it seems that the size of the country tends to play a bit part of the number of companies a country has listed in there. So according to size China should be burying the other two countries but seeing that at this moment it is approaching that number I'd say they have some ways to go.
@redwhitedude you know yesterday alone south korea firm sumsang spending and investing china 6 bilion us dolar their smart phone tablet factory base 3 different cities.
@Kaskeyable It's Samsung. All this investing gives chinese opportunity to absorb the knowhow from foreign companies. Chinese companies in these fields have a long way to go.
