  • 1 person is just a bitch ass hater (:

  • This was seen at the end of "Hunter," "Hardcastle & McCormick," "21 Jump Street," and "Stingray."

  • always stayed tune for this after the a team credits

  • Whoever disliked this is a "dingdong". The theme music says it all. R.I.P. Stephen.

  • Oh yeah man! I always remembered seeing that at the end of some tv shows with that guy at the typewriter and the music with it. Ah,tv memories.

  • dont forget 21 jump street johnny delp

  • I remember the simpsons (itchy & scratchy) version lol

  • Classic

  • 0:10 YouTube video: Classic logo for Stephen J. Cannell (SJC) Productions, which appeared at the end of many television shows; 1985.

February 5, 1941: birth of Stephen J. Cannell, American television producer and writer (d. 2010).

  • For some reason, this clip has always turned me on in a sexual way? I am straight though.

  • @f00tfetish4life WHAT?!!! ROFL!!!!!

  • Yeah, that newspaper turning into a C at the end of a show back then is burned into my mind forever. Along with the Hanna Barbera star back then after a cartoon went off from an episode. It would spiral 2 or 3 times and then make a cha-ching! sound. lol

  • I remember this one! I actually saw a spoof of this on family guy. They don't show these things anymore.

  • The greatest american LOGO ever! R.I.P. Mr. Typewriter Man! TV will never be the same.

  • Must be bed time now.

  • @planetrockford love that comment

  • Wow, I feel very nostalgic right now - this sign off was one of the many iconic symbols of my childhood. May he RIP.

  • did he did those closing logos in one take?

  • NO! Damn! RIP Steven.J."That Mans a Legend" Cannel!

    69yrs old Thursday September 30th 2010

He was like the Chuck Norris of writing & producing TV, Book & Films throughout the 70's, 80's & 90's & some of the 00's!

    EPIC LEGEND!

    EPIC TYPEWRITER!

  • RIP Stephen J. Cannell.

  • RIP Stephen J. Canell...

  • Man, growing up in the 80's (and only having a black & white set up until '91), that dude sitting at his typewriter and then throwing the sheet of white paper in the air...that's one of my lasting images of the classic 80's decade. Just like the crazy "V of DOOM". ;-) I'll never forget that for as long as I live... R.I.P.!

  • @BrooklynEagle That closing scene is part of my teen years and always will be.

  • RIP Stephen J. Cannell, you are a TV icon, you will be dearly missed by your friends, family, fans, and the entertainment community.

  • RIP Stephen

  • R.I.P Stephen :(

  • R.I.P

  • RIP, that flying paper is a memory for a lot of us.

  • R.I.P.

  • R.I.P. Stephen J. Cannell.

  • Family Guy makes a lot of weird and irrelevant references. They should stop that

  • @Mapleholic true. but that's kind of what makes Family Guy...well, Family Guy. If you think about it, without their unnecessary references, the show wouldn't be all that funny.(:

  • @ADazzledDazzle Funny ones, agreed, should stay. But some are just so weird, even the star wars quotes are irrelevant. I dont like star wars

  • @Mapleholic yes! I kinda dislike their Star Wars quotes too.

  • The A-Team ^w^

  • scary

  • THE MAN

  • I just watched it on Family Guy too

  • haha i love the family guy version...

  • me 2

  • @PUMPuptheNERD its funny but he didnt enjoy it

  • That was attached to the A-team. COool.

  • nostalgia over load

  • This logo scared me as a kid. I hated the loud music, so I would hide before it would start.

  • Hey guys, this man is a legend, he has given us great shows like The Greatest American Hero, The A-Team, Stingray, Riptide, Wiseguy, Hardcastle & McCormick, The Commish and of course HUNTER

William Katt, Connie Sellica, Mr. T, Perry King, Joe Penny, Daniel Hugh Kelley, Ken Wahl, Fred Dryer and Stepfanie Kramer are excellent actors on each of their respected shows as well as revived careers of Robert Culp, Brian Keith, George Peppard and Robert Conrad.

    God Bless Stephen J. Cannell

  • at the end of "Murder She Wrote"

  • the fuckin best

  • which one was "Sit booboo sit, good dog (Ruff)?

  • Ubu productions from Family Ties and it's "Sit Ubu sit, good dog (Ruff)"

  • ohhhhh, and go figure I've been sayin' it wrong since 1985, dag...that one always stuck in my memory, thanx man.

  • it looks like it was made in the 70's

  • Only the horn (before he throws the paper) is from the 70s.

  • @vfreeck its from the early 80s

  • Hey, mycommericals, could you please upload the Paramount TV logos as seen on "Mission: Impossible"?

  • The theme sounds different from the 85 version

  • I'm glad this logo isn't plastered over. News Corporation owns this logo. I've never seen any 20th Television logos plastered over any of Steve's logos.

  • It would be very disrespectful to plaster over this logo.

  • You said it.

  • Family Guy parodied it excellently, but I can't find the clip on YouTube.

  • The Simpsons did too.

  • i could try to get it...

  • what's the logo when the lady says Good night Mr. So n So! And he grumbles?

I m looking for that one

  • That's John Charles Walters Company shown at the end of Taxi, the lady says Good night Mr Walters

  • For god sake wwefrog! It's not from The great mouse detective! And columbia did'nt made it Disney did!!!

  • D-V-N-O / FOUR CAPITAL LETTERS

  • I wonder if he had any extended logos prior to this 1984-1987 variant? There is a shortened version of this particular jingle that played occassionally over the 1981 logo on greatest american hero on the dvd collection.

And on a few eps the 8 notes played over that same logo but it was followed by a different tune after the eighth note kinda sounding like the last notes to the greatest american hero theme song "Believe it or not".

  • i remember in 1983,he always had the pipe in this credit concluder thing.then, all of a sudden,he apparently ditched the pipe.

  • @bobbyd7085 nope he still has it just didnt want to use it

  • Back when I was 8-9 years old, that was usually my cue that it was time to go to bed. Ahh, memories...

  • "Hill Street Blues"

  • @monos70

No. You're thinking of Steven Bocchco.

  • The logo of "Stephen J. Cannell Productions" was on these shows like: "The Greatest American Hero," "The A-Team," "Hardcastle & McCormick," "Hunter," "Riptide," "21 Jump Street," "Silk Stalkings," "Wiseguy," and others.
