Man, growing up in the 80's (and only having a black & white set up until '91), that dude sitting at his typewriter and then throwing the sheet of white paper in the air...that's one of my lasting images of the classic 80's decade. William Katt, Connie Sellica, Mr. T, Perry King, Joe Penny, Daniel Hugh Kelley, Ken Wahl, Fred Dryer and Stepfanie Kramer are excellent actors on each of their respected shows as well as revived careers of Robert Culp, Brian Keith, George Peppard and Robert Conrad.

I wonder if he had any extended logos prior to this 1984-1987 variant? There is a shortened version of this particular jingle that played occassionally over the 1981 logo on greatest american hero on the dvd collection.

And on a few eps the 8 notes played over that same logo but it was followed by a different tune after the eighth note kinda sounding like the last notes to the greatest american hero theme song "Believe it or not".
