Too bad it's not historically accurate. The first time Sifu Wong Shun Leung and Yip Man met was in Yip Man's school (he was already teaching Wing Chun and had multiple students). Wong Shun Leung used western Boxing and first defeated a few students. Then Yip Man let his top student, Yip Bo Ching, fight with Wong. Yip won the fight. Later Yip Man himself also gave it a go and easily defeated Wong. Wong later grew to be one of the most respected Wing Chun sifu's ever.
@MrTifli The information comes from Sifu David Peterson, who was a direct student of the late sifu Wong Shun Leung with whom he was able to communicate quite good because he spoke Chinese as well. He wrote a book and has some articles on his website with good info.
Occasionally my own teacher shares some stories with me about Wong. My teacher's lineage also traces back to Wong Shun Leung through sifu Philipp Bayer a German student of Wong.
@MrTifli I wish I was his student. But I can't afford to regularly travel that far (yet). I only attend his seminars when he visits us in the Netherlands. My teacher's teacher is a student of Philipp Bayer.
