  • sounds really fun!

  • looks like a fun trail to ride down, but you guys are totally killing it by riding the whole thing at like 15mph :P

  • boring vid

  • Boring comment

  • @RealJohnny1

I am sure it was very exciting riding there, but looking through 10 minutes at back of front rider is really boring. for watcher of video. I expected more fascinating shots. Sorry for mistakes if there are some - I am not native English.

  • What a cool trail. Riding there, you're soooo lucky. About the video, haven't you try a motion stabilizer stuff, I know there is one in after effect, seems to work good. ( /watch?v=9i1iJgesPbQ ) Maybe you should try, but don't really know how it works, haven't done video editing for years :) :) Anyway, cool vid. And also, is it really expensive to make such a ride? Ciao

  • Not expensive for what it is. Just Google Redspokes and do their tour. Your only here once.....

  • Try downhill with out touchin ur breaks.. now thats some scary ass shiit hahaa

  • @Wisper714 sounds intresting video it when you do it don't worry the falls only about 50 meters if you fall if you dont pick up speed that is. if you fall with speed its only about a 10,000 feet to fall. remember base camp is at 17,589 feet or 5364 meters.

  • Next time do it on an off-road skateboard, that'll keep the, "I can do that blindfolded" crowd tight-lipped.

  • Thinking about doing this next year, altitude is a concern in relation to heart rate oxegen consumptionand power to weight ration in thin atmosphere. I race mountain bikes and have travelled around the world doing it, but nothing compares to this.

  • the corner at 5:35 is what the straights hear look like and im going 20+ through that by myself and im 15. you guys are slow.

  • screw the sights and sounds, i would be going fast down that, knowing how far the hospital is.

  • title is misleading, this was obviously filmed on mars :)

  • High speed camera man catch up......very cool video!

  • It just keeps going and going and going...awesome, awesome, awesome!

  • Techno and downhill just doesnt work.

  • vais muy lentos madre mia hasta yo cn mi bici del decathlon iria mas rapido jajajaja sin tocar freno como tendria k ser.

Para que gravar este video? es penoso lo ago mejor yoo mil veces.

  • This is the ultimate regardless of what retards think...you can't get much more ultimate than the Himalayas...you might get more insane trails but they're just hills, this is the greatest mountain range this planet has (not counting under sea mountains of course)

  • me gusyta pero vais lentos

  • vais lentos

  • Lame totally lame. There r much more intense and technical XC trails in my neighborhood that I ride everyday. Doesnt take any skill to ride that trail. I mean seriously thats definately not ultimate.

  • downhill well it was a hill i will give you that but not the ultimate downhill sorry and also made feel sick as the camera was bobing everywhere try helmet mounting it guys

  • @andyd2506 'tard

  • I falll sleep...

  • nice ride guys ..

    might have to put wheels

    on my couch ..

  • It looks like Mars or some other planet, very dry.

  • @06tay26 you seen the himilayas?

  • You need a Steadycam.

  • that looks awsome! i'm going riding in the himalayas and this is exactly the kind of trails i hope to find. i can really appreciate how lucky it is to find such a long, continuous downhill piece of singletrack like that. where exactly is this trail? how did you fid it? what is the trail normally used for (ie why is it there)?

  • Hey I'm going to Nepal in 1 month, this seems like something I want to do. What company did you do this with? Any other tips? Thanks-Jp

  • 5000 meteres yeah?

  • 9:19

lucky he fell inwards not outwards

  • thats kool hey i dont kno where you live but if you live close to alabama we have a mountain called cheehaw yes alabama is a small state but theres great stuff about it

  • most of the coments didnt ask you how to stand from the thin air... it will make you headache since the air pressure only 0.6 bar. You guys are outstanding!! i've been there just for a sightseeing and cant stand for the headache...

  • @budimard .....0.6 bar?? your probably 100% right but doesnt sound right?

  • looks pretty straight forward. How long did it take you? For me I like to DH so I would like to zoom down it

  • that looks extremy dicey and awesome at the same time

  • i wanna try that

  • what was the altitud?

  • Great!!

  • That's barely even singletrack. It's like riding the fireroad to my local trails. You'd love the Andes. Sierra Nevada Venezuela. Around Merida. Super-gnar compared to this. Loads of drops on trails with deep holes/gullys carved by water in the cloudforest. Steeper mountains too. Cheaper also! More wildlife - hummingbirds, hornbills, parrots and shiznit. Loads of other stuff in Ven too. Los Llanos. Amazonas. Caribbean beaches...

  • how far down is it if you fall?

  • About 4 feet on my bike

  • HA!

  • What cam do you use??

what brand and type.. i want one to, this one has great quality..

  • there are hd cams out called contour and there 1080p they only cost £250 first hd head cam

  • idk this is a great veiw and it goes on for ever but it makes me apriatate my trails more they have a lot of turns and good downhill parts dont get me wrong i would love to bike there but it makes me realize my trails arent half bad

  • It's 'Salva Mea' by Faithless

  • con u say wich is the theme song? pliz

  • Nice upload.

You boys need to check out Gorple Road in Worsthorne, England though.

    Peace.

  • cool wish i could go there

  • I don't understand you folks talking about downhill sites and 'real downhilling'....

Man, this is about an once in a lifetime experience. One in a million gets the chance to ride in the Himalayas.

    Niiiiice one, for sure! :D

  • @bikeoki 'real downhilling' is an actual sport. It's called downhill and it utilizes special downhill bikes, trails gear and techniques. This is a video of riding down a hill. Not downhilling if that makes any sense. Just search downhill in the url and you'll find some legit stuff.

  • Could do with some big doubles and tables on there like.....seems like a bit of a waste to me....get the old sherpa's up there with some spades and wheel barrows

  • pfff i do tht in my sleep..8-)

  • soo do u no of anywear in canada or in america that has good downhilling or tracks?

  • I know up near whistler, BC Canada has some good runs. Mostly out west in america is where all the good downhilling is. I know there are some fun ones in Arizona, California, and Utah. Right around that area you're gonna find a ton. There is also some fun ones in Colorado.

  • u know whqt i highly sujest, to La Paz, Bolivia. do the biking trial of Los Yungas, r als know coroico trial, it is amazing, u start of in a place where there is snow and there is nothing there, its an altiplanic area, and in a certain place it changes to a very dense rain forest , amost jungle. ps. that road is also known as the most dangerous road in the world :P

  • looks like fun

  • hello bro.. got any write up on this trip?? i'd like to know more bout your trip..

  • umm like anywear in ontairo or in between ontairo and bc ?

  • umm no? thats canada and this is tibet to nepal! no comparison!

  • blue mountain in collingwood, ontario has lift accessible dh trails.... lots of ski resorts operate in the summer and have dh bike trails.... just search 'dh biking blue mountain' on youtube

  • Not that amazing :/ I have been through worse in Canada eh?

  • Having to speak French isn't that bad! And whats so bad about ice fishing?

  • That actually looks really fun. How did you plan the trip and how much did it cost?

  • You can reach higher places maybe in Canada areas, you went from base camp, not a peak.

Is the Oxygen too low to MB up everest?

Must have been great, I plan to do Snowdon 300m above sea level, but its freezing and the terrain is sheer angled.

Where you using hard tails, or fully suspended?

  • do any of you no of any down hill areas in Canada or United states?

  • lol check around sanfran or the rockeys

  • whistler in canada or tahoe in california are great, there's lots though, can you be more specific on where?

  • yooo were is this

  • did you even bother to read the description???

    and learn to spell wanker

  • looks fun

  • thats what mountain biking on Mars would look like...!

  • Bah! This makes me want to fix my bike. I broke it yesterday jumping down some stairs :((.

  • i hope your second ride was a little bit faster...

  • there was potential for this to be a speedy track. And your right it does look like an amazing oppurtunity butt going a bit faster wouldnt have hurt :P, plus the exhilaration of bolting down it.

  • amazing landscape!!!

    Nice spot to downhill!

  • could u hav went any slower???

  • could u hav articulated your opinion any better???

  • @RealJohnny1 yeh, why so slow!?

  • @RealJohnny1

could you have failed more miserably in attempting to correct someone?

  • can u hav speakings betters???

  • Great bit of downhill, not very technical but potential for a lot of speed.

  • its a bit 2 slow 2 b downhill if u ask me

  • Hey if you wouldve read the description maybe you wouldve understood.

  • i agree...

xc'ers riding down a hill doesn't count as downhill

    lol

  • I still like Keystone CO the best.

  • amazing video! i hope to do this too someday :)

  • ...no jumps? not interested

  • No Yak poop to dodge?

  • i know what my next spring holliday is going to be

  • i thought this was an awesome video and these people talking bad about the camera work obviously have never ridden a bike on anything other than a paved road. i am just now gettin into downhill MTB and i would love to take that trip! that ride would be so relaxing it seems!!!!

  • Does it matter - helmet cam or bike mount is always going to be bumpy - it's a trail, not a perfectly surfaced road.

When your grandparent makes a better video, why not share it?

  • haha i see that shut him up

  • why didn't you invite me?

  • I want to do this trip so bad. It looks unbelievably awesome.

  • i wish the camera was better.

  • How long (mileage) of a trip was this?

  • I carried a GPS all the way! It was around 750mile total cycling with a high of around 5300M

  • Thats incredible

  • awesome but the camera wasn't good. whats the song's name (the second song) plz reply me

  • awesome, ive kinda always been into biking used to have a dirtbike, ive recently got into mountain biking though its just better, think its cos you get to appreciate the environment and views when your doing a run, still a bit of a novice, any pointers.

  • Book this trip with a friend for next spring! You'll be amazed at how motivated your training will get when you visualise cycling into Everest base camp.... Go for it - your only here once and it doesn't cost that much ($1200 trip + $600 flight)

  • mate this has inspired me - i was off to walk around nepal but this looks so much better...mind if i ask how long did it take?

  • It took three weeks and it was worth it. I have done the Everest base camp / Nepal / Lukla trek and this was in a different league. You can see the details of who we chartered in the HD version (look under my vides). Their website has everything you need to know. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did... PS we're going back in 2011 - with a better camera and faster ride..

  • why did it take 3 weeks? lots of customs and hiking?

  • We used makalu adventure, a great company in Kathmandu. Ask for Mohan

  • What type of camera did you use to film the downhill?

  • I used a Panasonic FX30 mounted on the handlebars. The origanal 16:9 video looks way better than the youtube version - still would have been better on helmet. When will they bring out a 16:9 helmetcam...

  • Whats the name of that song

  • Salve Mea by Faithless

  • well there is people for everything.. xD

  • I completely agree! Your eloquent use of language very cleverly affirms your assertion.

  • one word awesome !!!!

  • I agree

But i still want to do it

  • Down the hill ok, but it is NOT DOWNHILL.

    Nice video however ;)

  • once i really tho that hes gonna do that downhill when he stopped there for a while...lol!

  • Anyway I can be sure it's not uphill.

  • nice but kinda slow for downhill

  • Awesome video and looks like a lot of fun!

Did you get off to help the guy in front when he fell off? Was he okay?

  • you must had a great fulfilling day.. this feels very cross country going downhill..

  • hey man.

am realy glad you enjoyed this and took it slow and stopped to take in the scenary. you definately inspried me to do this some day.

well am glad you enjoyed it:)

    thanks alot.

  • Brilliant-brilliant-brilliant-brilliant!

    WOW

    Fantstic !

    Thank-You!

  • know what'd be epic? Going down that hill @ 4:00

  • WoW I dream about that everynight. Im doin that some day

  • I would love to be there but is fun to watch. I want to go with my 08 atomik

  • where is this place please tell me

  • Can't you read? It says it in the bloody description! Everest base camp via Pang La Pass....Flippy dippy...

  • holy shit that would be amazing

  • 33333

  • very nice m8, once in a lifetime indeed, i'll do it one day... but faster :)

  • truely amazing!!

  • if you could get back to me with the cost of your trip here and how many ppl went thatd be great thanks. awesome vid

  • How did that guy fall at around 9:15?? Amazing vidoe too...

  • this is pretty cool vid! i just got a giant reign and im loving riding and racing it. i wish everyone loved mtn biking.

  • that looked like a painful crash your friend took, good thing he didn't hurt anything, because their are no hospitals around like you said

  • What an experience it would be. Love gravel, what bikes and tires did you guys use for this terrain (dirt/rock trail) ?

  • Three of used Marin Nailtrails which worked well. We all used differant tyres. I went for IRC Mibro 1.95 which were good (three punctures). As most is road and gravel I'm using Schwalbe Marathon XCR next time.

  • Thanks alot mate for the reply. I get kinda biased, most of my bikes has Nevegal and Excavator tires on them. They'd never fail, and dont think they ever will. Minimum punctures, and Im happy with that.

  • how cheap is cheap

  • good video i am getting a new mountain bike but i want it to be cheap. any suggestions??

  • go to fred myer and get a Magna. those are cheap...

  • Katmandu if your not ripping it hardcore

  • Looks great, and fast, the ride is always rougher than it looks on camera too. However, it's still essentially a path. After riding the Megavalanche in France last year which was 1 and a half hours of extremely steep, snow, a whole glacier, pasture, forest and tv sized boulder fields from Pic blanc 10,000feet down, holding on with every thing i had for 36k, i would say that the MEGA is the ultimate downhill in the world.

  • whats the name of this soundtrack??anyone??

  • Should have put that in the comment.

Salva Mea (Full Epic Mix) by Faithless

  • I want to ride my KLR up the singlr track! Is that possible with the locals?

  • It was 1400KM over 21 days and it was GREAT. We used and would recommend Makalu Adventure - just google them. They were great and cheap.

  • Cheers mate, will do.

  • Congrats, it looks like a fun trip!

Maybe the titles are a bit off, but it looks nice.

  • !

It's 1100m(3600ft) vertical drop from Pangla to Tashi Tsong village.

I hiked straight up on foot with a 50lbs pack.

Then I spent the night on top of the hill in 2 plastic bags.

I woke up to the most magnificent scene:

Makalu, Lhotse, Everest, Gychung Khang, Chuoyu, Labuji Khang & Xixia Pangma all in one view, under dark turquoise-blue sky, orange golden sunshine on the peaks, and clouds covering all valleys below 4800m.

I didn't have a digital camera, but I was awake!

    !

  • I wanna go! the song is really good for this

  • We did this trip last summer, it is amazing how much development has gone on since your video! Craziness. Great vid documenting the history of the area...

  • I've ridden it. It's extreme. The kid's at the village at the end of this downhill ran me out of town throwing stones at me.

  • i wanna go

  • excellent sound track
