I sure hope that in the 4 years since this was taken, this guy has learned to roll, or taken up another sport. I'd love to see what he would do in conditions that were rough enough to cause him to tip out. No! he'd probably drown.
it works but here in england you would have been EATEN ALIVE by now by micro organisms or a scouser would nick your your boat if you were out of it that long !
this is hopeless. I kayak in Maine. You'd never last. This is way overdone. You go out, learn to roll. Last thing in the world you want to do is leave the boat. If you must, then stick one foot in the boat to hold it while you blow up the balloon. flip the boat on top of yourself and roll up. all this does is mislead people
the spray deck is still not on but it demonstrates how important a wet or dry suit would be on the ocean in scotland, in bc canada or the east coast of canada.
You ought to see how hard it is to do that when you're out in the ocean or a big lake and the chop is building up and the wind is blowing. Very easy to get separated from your kayak or your paddle, and the wind will blow an empty kayak a great distance in a short time. Any time you go over, you have to grab the kayak quickly. This is the number one skill a sea kayaker needs to know inside and out, and I'm amazed how few people practice it.
its good but hard to see and could use a description/narration. also, if you're sea kayaking, it's not safe to stay in the water for that long (unless you're in like california or mexico!)
hey guys, i really like your video cause it shows how long it actually take and the amount of time you're in the water. if you are tired from paddling for a few hours or the weather is bad its not always as simple as others would have you think. so good on ya! dave.
The title of this video should be "Griffin LEARNS how to get back into a kayak..."

that took too long, over 3 min? This should take 1 less tham 1 minute in rough seas!
