@pkoicetr No, there have been quite a few introduced with lifetime map updates and traffic since then. You might want to check out the TomTom GO 740TM LIVE or the TomTom XXL 540TM.
Correct (on some Garmin units anyway). Though TomTom is expected to start selling units with lifetime traffic soon. Be aware that the Garmin lifetime traffic is ad-supported.

i have the garmin 1490T and love it! it has free lifetime traffic and the user interface looks alot better than TomTom's.

@Youradumbassbarnes - It doesn't look like it. They don't list an FM traffic receiver as a compatible accessory.
@occeo - The XXL 5x0 series is wider.

It is in the unit itself (not the cradle or charger). But you only get a 3 month subscription. After that its $9.99 / month.
