  • ""but thats not to say the potential for the sun to shine doesn't exist. walk down the path towards the light rather than walk into the darkness" : )

  • For awhile I thought that it went something different then: "Everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the moon,"

When I found out the "sun is in tune" it changed the whole album for me. It fit perfectly.

  • prabably one of the very few good reasons to try drugs

  • @acoronab

There is no intelligent reason to do drugs.

  • @andersoncouncilpf agreed

  • Was Any Colour You Like not worth discussing on this documentary? That's a part of the album as well!

  • I first heard this with my dear sister 36 years ago, almost 37. I heard it for the first time, not yet! I was born 7-3-2011. Died for eight minutes, suffered some damage from it when I came out of the coma. I am different as are my memories. Going to make it an event tonight.

  • I wanted to hear about how they made Any Colour You Like, it's a badass song, too.

  • I will hear the whole album for the first time right now. Wish me luck.

  • @sumeragicrow

    So? What do you think???

  • @dustasdu Awesome! Can't believe it was recorded 40 years ago. One of my new favorites.

  • @sumeragicrow

Yes!!! It's amazing, I hope you've heard in low light hahaha it's kind of a ritual the first time you hear DSOTM!

Glad you like it. It's a beautiful record and it should be ear it complete because it's beautiful haha

  • @sumeragicrow Your life has just changed for better.

  • @sumeragicrow I'm jealous. I still remember the first time I heard it......blew my mind.

  • @sumeragicrow People say that when something bad will happen. ;D

  • Oh man, Brain Damage, with Waters playing acoustically and then the transitionHOLYSHITMAN

  • The voices were just fuckin' voices. Who was that pretencious tosser saying they 'brought out the dark sideof the album'.

  • this was a fucking awesome documentary. thanks for sharing!

  • i which i could remember the first time i heard the whole album... i was too young to care...

  • Claiming everyone out of that sphere as it's 'dark side'.

But there is no dark of moon(society). It's all dark. We're all crazy, no one is "normal". But that concept is normal.

  • @finalmattasy

The last quote in the album says, "there is no dark side of the moon, really. As a matter of fact it's all dark."

I think what the moon symbolizes in this album is society.

"Everything under the sun is in tune."

Everything(the individuals) is in tune under the same sun, symbolizing normal or sanity.

"But the sun is eclipsed by the moon."

The moon(society) denies the individual the sunlight - it denies us from feeling "normal".

Society tells us what is normal and sane, cla

  • @pein05 also remember:

"the sun is the same, in a relative way.."

    from Time...

i think it means that everyone is going to the same destiny(dying) or something like that...

  • @moretimetokill31

mmm... In my opinion it means that the sun is the same (relatively) because compared to a human life time, the sun's is much longer.

So you are older but the sun it's the same in a relative way.

  • No he podido ver la parte 4, por copyright y esas cosas..

  • what this album does differently from the wall in my mind is...instead of saying just that we can perhaps escape from madness to once again join with our friends, it somehow signifies that madness is a balance, something essential, and and important part of our life. That's why the titular track is my second favorite song ever (and it even beats comfortably numb if i'm allowed to include eclipse ^^).

  • Man...that last line from Waters could've been the end of the album!

  • 2:26 I always thought he said "I certainly wasn't arranged for this" LMAO I was way off!

  • 1:42 Best advise in the world!

  • I'm not a big fan of Floyd. But, "Everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the moon," is my favourite lyric ever.

The moon represents Satan and humanity, as in, those who, only having been created, block the will of the creator. Thereby destroying their opportunity to properly exist.

Then of course the Word made a way for any human to become a new creature. Jesus died, the Holy Spirit is really here, make a choice.

The world exists in a specific way, and particles..

  • @finalmattasy no, that's not what it means

  • @finalmattasy

Wow. Swing and a HUGE miss. Not even close dude.

  • @pein05 yeah, I certainly didn't pull any punches. What do you think it means? "All that you touch, taste, see,... is in tune. But.."

Regardless of your understanding of reality, I think the lyrics draw a circle around all of it; and then say that it's in tune, but presently in darkness. So with your views, to what do you ascribe that "proper harmony" and to what do you ascribe that "darkness?"

  • They left out my favorite "Any Colour You Like" :(

  • @dramska4years

    I feel your pain brother:,(

  • Why did they miss out "Any Colour you Like"?

  • @jamesbannon100 yeh why? the song is an instrumental masterpiece in my opinion. would really like to hear how they made it...

  • After 30 years of listening and enjoying, I love this more than ever. 5concerts, sober, high, always an INCREDIBLE experience.

  • well done. thank you for posting this documentary.

  • Gilmour sums it up at 6:42 when he says:

"I'd have loved to have been a person who could sit back with his headphones on and listen to that the whole way through for the first time. I mean, I never had that experience, but it would have been nice."

Wow. An artist completes a masterpiece, and wishes he could experience his own art for the first time. They were proud of their music and didn't put out crap to make a quick $. No glitz or glamor - just awesome music - the way it should be!

  • @bpvogel I do love pink floyd, Gilmore did his best work in dark side of the moon

  • lo mejor ke se tinene

  • AHA! I can't believe it never occurred to me before - Even just recently I was asking myself, "Why the GREEN band?" But of course - heart monitors always display green. Yet I could only see that when the colour is isolated.

  • que se puede decir?...solo maravilloso¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • the beginning of dogs is real trippy

  • This is what Floyd is about Roger's great writing and his amazing mind and views towards things ,,one has to admit ,,with Roger Floyd was greater although i love Gilmours work ,,Roger did a lot of the creepy sounds on all floyd albums

  • Roger is the greatest without him nothing makes sense

  • That's not what the Floyd is about man.
