  • A balance, students learn in short increments and computers are a great way to add educational value to real hands on activities. I believe there is need for qualified science teachers, aquatic experts and environmental scientists.Hands on activities improve educators ability to teach, motivate students to stay in school and provide participants opportunities to discover career fields that lead to self-reliance. Computers improve every facets of education but we need the right balance

  • crackerass01 you'd surely agree that having children sit for hours each day in front of an unengaging teacher is also the wrong way to go. Yes, group work is a critical part of a good education but it also needs to be balanced with more personal experiences. computers can be of enormous benefit in both situations. They're interacting with concepts & ideas etc. It's about what the machine enables. If they're more engaged with it they'll be more likely to communicate their experiences to others.

  • I understand what they are trying to achieve here, but I think having children sit for hours each day in front of a computer is the wrong way to go. This will not make them effective FACE to FACE communicators. What are they interacting with? A machine? This is 20th century teaching in a new package. The only difference is that they've all got computers plonked in front of them.
