  • He predicted a broadcast and retrieval system, which is visionary but not the same thing as the Internet, which is narrowcast (we can develop with each other rather than a limited spectrum of media).

  • seems he predicted google, wikipedia, youtube, music downloads, skype, email, windows/mac osx, multimedia, tv on demand... basically most of the stuff we have now! also is it me or does his computer design look like an original 1984 macintosh?

  • wow...

  • He's a TIME TRAVELLER!!! KILL HIM WITH FIRE!!!

  • pretty impressive.

  • he sure was wrong, instead of being a superlibrary, the internet became a shithole where people discuss crap on sites like youtube

  • ele é brilhante.... junto com Raganatha formam os dois maiores visionários da história da Biblioteconomia mundial.!!!!!

  • I love this guy. To be fair, though, he didn't account for people being able to add to the library by submitting their own content, like I am doing with this youtube comment. The internet is not a one-way street. Also, we're all interacting with each other, in addition to the giant information resource. But still, this is awesome.

  • she says 1934 the subtitle writes 1932 lol!

  • @provendelusion; it was not a prediction it was a conclusion.

  • Brilliant beyond words. Paul Otlet is a founding father of the Internet.

  • Very insightful. Anyone got a useful link that has more information on Paul Otlet and his predictions?

  • lol. who knew that one day we'd be downloading cylinders into our iPhonographs?

  • Awesome! Me likey my televised book.

  • wow...brilliant man

  • Claro que tiende mas a la idea de hipertexto de ted nelson, que en si la de internet.

  • pues internet, como internet... no, pero si tenía una idea similar e interesante para la época.
