  • i shall visit and support this Donut shop haha

  • True, the credit card machine charges each swipe & we have to pay a certain percentage. That takes away the cost from the donuts. Here in the valley, ppl complain about it a lot saying it's illegal. It's not even our choice to do the fee. How are we gna profit with that right.

  • Selling to grocery stores and gas stations is a good way to make extra bucks if he is not doing that. Nice guy, I hope he makes it!

  • Arizona is hot as fuck

  • He needs to add something like Ice cream or soda drinks in the summer months

  • Small business can't compete against a national brand. Also I can only eat so many donuts. Cops will be your steady customers though.

  • This is exactly why Network Marketing is better. No overhead and 100% profit. Call me to find out how easy it is to make $4000-$12,000 monthly. Call: 1-800-808-6157

  • @drkevincampbell SPAMMER

  • The 3K a month is what they charge in a Staten Island, N.Y. strip mall. The owner of a food establishment has to make 9K just for break even and pay his employees. It's nuts thats why he is open 7 days a week 16 hours a day. Today it is almost impossible for a small business to make it , that is why there is so many home grown start ups.

  • This guy can't be making a profit.

30 customers a day. Donut costs on average lets say 75 cents (assuming some of them are more expensive). Lets say the average customer buys 6 donuts. Half buy a dozen and roughly other half 1 or 2

That = 4000 dollars GROSS income. However lets say he makes a 50 percent profit margin per donut at .75 cent. He makes only 2000 a month PROFIT.

That equals loss of 1000 or more a month.

  • @gus196666 - Oh man, Sorry Gus, I replied to the wrong person...Please forgive me. I meant to reply to ZombieKing. I got a little irratated with his comment and and somehow replied to you mistakenly. I'm sorry.

  • @ArizonaPublic no problem i forgive you , i like your videos i enjoy it too much , I wish the best for every one every where .

  • People of Arizona --- you may not like to hear this...but this is not a time to enjoy donuts. Its a time to repent. God is very angry with the people of Arizona.

  • @USZombeeKing - Why is God angry with us Arizonans?

  • Comment removed

  • @ArizonaPublic The answer is simple. The people of Arizona have time for everything else, but they have no time for God, no time for a simple prayer. The present crop of new young Arizonans, have a completely God-less lifestyle...weekends are spent hardcore partying, drinking, gambling and all the sinful activities that you can think of. 30 years ago their grandparents would spend weekends with family and Sunday was a day of prayer and church going.

Today's kids have no time for all that.

  • @USZombeeKing - How do you know where I go or don't go on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights? Well, I can tell you that there is a lot of people that go to Church here. Assuming that ALL Arizonans don't go to Church is preposterous.

  • @USZombeeKing Just because of a local donut retailer? Why? Doesn't God like donuts?

  • @USZombeeKing FYI i personally thank GOD everyday ,at every meal and every night for allowing me the privilege of being alive one more day ......go talk your smack somewhere else ..oh and GOD BLESS YOU (you really need his blessings)

  • @USZombeeKing i go to Friday prayers every week haha thats how i contribute to prayer :)

  • where the owner is come from ???

i wish you good luck with the store

    greetings from Uruguay

  • @gus196666 - Thanks, He is from Cambodia.

  • $3k to $4k a month to keep the lights on?

Hate to say it , but this guy will probably spend his last dime riding it into the ground.I was dumb enough to make similar mistakes on my biz. dream.

THere is a time to move on.

What is going to bring back the 50% of cust. he lost (that DD wont copy and underprice)?

I predict its over by Christmas. Haters; make your prediction or better yet go and invest in this mans business. Money where your keyboard is.

  • @cpgone

I hate to say it but I agree. Even if dunkin donuts wasn't around 3 to 4K is awful high threshold to begin with. I know in my local town bakeries or donut places have NEVER lasted long term in the 18 years I have lived here. So the odds were stacked against him before DD. Now that DD moved it doesn't look good.

  • What happens it looks like they lose money every month how can you run a bussiness like that what am I missing

  • This is not a mom and pop shop, rather it is mama-san and papa-san shop

  • Me and my dad are gonna go buy some dougnuts from this guy this weekend.

  • @paidskn1488 - Oh Wow!... Thank you for supporting the local business owners!... This is awesome!

  • @ArizonaPublic My dad owns a small business and the same thing is happening to him so he trys to help out other small business too.

  • Excellent video. Good community service.

I wanted to ask if you could make a video about Dunkin Donuts from the parking lot, early in the am, to determine if most of their customers walk in or go through the drive-thru. It would also be useful to know how many customers buy coffee with their donuts. Then tell your friend.

  • @countryhorsefive The mom and pop shop does not seem to sell coffee. No drive thru. Their sign is much less visible from the highway than the Dunkin Donuts sign.

I hope business picks up for him. I know how it feels. My business is also down by more than 50% this summer.

  • go to " of two minds" The USA is crashing. economic collapse blog etc.

Donuts are not at the top of everyone's list.

Maybe he should get a drive through or at least curb service?

DD has the tax breaks and slave labor to out last the small fry.

Cut his losses now and move on.

  • I wonder if they shipped their donuts would business pickup. I wish I lived there I would be in ther daily to buy from him. The donuts look good and are bigger than dunkin donuts. Maybe he should move to Seattle. Dunkin Donuts has a small selection of donuts about thirteen last time I checked.

  • The sad reality of consumerism is that DD is a recognized brand and in order for him to compete he will need to offer something that the competition does not offer. I feel for all the mom and pop stores accross the country, and would suggest that whenever possible spend your hard earned money at family run businesses.

  • He should offer something Dunkin doesn't like a repeat customer card where they get a free coffee and 2 donuts after their 10th transaction with a minimum purchase of $5 each transaction.

  • look at his windows he needs some ads/posters start selling fraps and sandwiches. JS if I was in business thats what I would be doing.

Also out here in Los Angeles with all the illegals a lot of businesses have started selling phone cards to get them in. Remember they in houses with a lot of people. Most of those illegals use PHONE CARDS.

Just trying to help, I like the donut guy.

  • Worst part is, after making enough for that 4,000 in expenses, he still has to pay taxes to the IRS on top of that too. That's a lot of donuts he is no longer selling. I think we're watching him go out of business by this time next year.

  • maybe he can work out adeal to delvier to the police and fire stations every morning, for real!!!!!!!!seems like a great guy i hope he makes it!!!

  • Theres plenty of things he can do that corporate competitors cant nor care to do. For one, he can network with area coffee shops/711's/etc and sell his product there. Local businesses will support him before they support DD. Perhaps he can create healthy doughnuts for certain healthy/trendy/whole foods/etc type businesses who will be more inclined to buy to their health conscious customers.

  • Adapt or die. Either give the guy some business ideas, pay his bills, or let him crash at your place. Where is the creativity? I see products I bought 20 years ago. Machine charges to much, Get Square Up. %2.75 and no other fees. Where is his healthy section. Where is his organic section. What has he done to innovate? You seem like a cool guy but until you help the guy this is just some truly offensive patronizing BS.

  • I hope this guy hangs in there

  • dunkin donuts has a lot more overhead but can undercut him. He needs to Advertise on the outside or have some kind of special. Do overpaid cops get discounts at Dunkin? Do any of the GAS STATIONS have Krispy Kreme donuts?

  • They should try squareup or intuit gopayment or even paypal. You can use your cellphone to accept debit and credit cards. Great video! Keep them coming :-)

  • this is way we are fat..walking in a store is 2 much..our society is sad..no wonder every western country...are all going 2 be TURD WORLD DUMPS..

  • Cash only.that's what I'm talking about....

  • Does this guy ship donuts in the mail folks can help God Bless

  • @cokeman250 - Thats a great question, I'm not sure but I bet he would...wow, That would be awesome =)

Maybe call him in the morning? (623) 474-0028

That would make a GREAT video.....

  • corporate scum & the bANKING CARTEL he needs to figure out a way to fight back that will work or he will be going down in flames..I got a idea! street sales! He needs to figure out a way to deliver and or also find a street corner vending location to street vend the donuts.. I use to street vend & people love to buy stuff off the street corners..cash is one of the big problems but most people know a street vender will only take cash...LOL

  • The Government should have a special program for "Local Businesses" that will help them economically at the begining lets say the first 6 months on business. And they "the Government" should apply an extra fee or tax to the "Corporate Businesses" like Dunkin Donuts, McDonalds, Burger King, ect, so we can have a fair distribution of business between the corporate one and the "mom and pop" local ones.

  • Dose he offer coffee? Also the drive-thru is killing him.

  • That freaking sucks, tell him hirer a shaker boarder.... that will being in customers..

  • I get 1 percent cash back on my credit card at most retails and 2 percent at grocery stores. So not allowing me to use my credit card is actually a 1 or more percent tax hike. lol

  • Debit/Credit swiper is evil

  • @WhatTheHeo

I work in the check and credit card industry. I agree completely. The end game is to form a cashless society because its limitless and easy to control. Easy to take from citizens just the same. Every single one of these giants, visa, discover, amex, mc, are all braking the law of the land just on currency alone. But they got good lawyers and lobbies good enough to make laws alowing these crooks to prosper.

  • I blame it on demcads diet. He has cut down his consumption, the owner just wanted to be polite about demcads journey to fitness. Thats probably why demcad was driving down that intersection in your last video like a bat out of hell cause he was craving for some donuts.

  • Wow 3000 a month a lease. That sounds awful high. That can't be the going rate all over town maybe its cause its a newer shopping center in a prime area?

  • Thanks for the video !
