Installing Memory to MPC 2000XL

Hey

I build in 2x 16Mb RAM and the MPC 2000XL tells me that 32 MB are installed(via pushing the shift+sample knobs and press open window).

But I cant save the samples on the RAM as discribed in the instruction...:

Choose the "FILE:" , the"Device:"(in this case F-Rom)then press "do it"[F6]

but I cant save it and the MPC says just"wait......" for less then 1 second...

the final SAVE-SCREEN in which you should press [F5] is not shown...

WHAT I'm DOING WRONG???

wow this looks really simple. im thinking of buying 32mb RAM now, i didnt think about it before because i just thought it would be a fucking annoying complicated process but this looks to be quite easy. just the same as in a regular computer :)

how do u determine how much ram u have to begin with, I didn't read the comments below so don't call me a dumbass or etc.

How long is the memory for the 2000xl cause it says 2 MB is 6min mono and 32 MB is 3min stereo,and wouldn't you want more memory ???

@jukeria if it is 3min stereo then it is more time with mono. im not sure if 2mb is 6min mono. i get awfully less amount of memory. about 10 seconds only :(

that's nice but in what direction should the ram be placed? it seems like it will fit eithre way??

it should fit one way...slip it in with flat side facing the back of the mpc...then click..thx
