One of the Most Realistic Flight Sims Available
FlightProSim has been built to be as close to real life as possible
Obviously, everyone here loves flying and just as obvious is the fact that all this hardware requires a lot of time, effort, skill and especially expense. Considering what simulation requires, I confess that I really don't understand why many people would bother doing this instead of just getting real flight training and becoming real pilots. If you love aviation that much and are willing to make such an investment, why not just be a pilot?
Well..the answer is very easy my friend..! Many of these guy's are over their fifthy's..many other younger ones because of one or other medical reasons,(think about eye sight, color blind, etc) other because they do not have "high education with math"..and i must tell you that lot of the teenagers here are going to study Aviation; either pilot or AT controller.... And finaly i'am telling you that there are LOT of ex-pilots (even ex-Airline Captains) that are practicing this hobby...
@AlexAlberto In the USA (where I am), a large portion of aviators are in their 50s and well beyond because they can now afford the time and expense to fly. No pilots that I've ever known are particularly good at math. There is now a "Light Sport" class of license here that does not require a medical certificate and teenagers who can afford elaborate simulation gear generally prefer to invest in real flight training. Perhaps there are some hidden reasons for such popularity of simulation there.
@AlexAlberto Agreed. I am actually a real world pilot as well and I do get regular hours. Flight simulator gives me a chance to practice approaches, navigation, flight planning, etc. for free. It's also a hobby I have had since I was about 8 years old. So, the passion never goes away AND it has a practical side.
@airste172 Why didn't all the people who play golf on the weekends become professional golfers? There are a multitude of reasons for somebody not going into aviation for a career especially considering the state of the industry today. That being said as people have already pointed out there are many real pilots who fly flight simulator.
@swa5297 Since you brought up weekend golfers, I must point out the fact that professional or not, they are REALLY PLAYING GOLF instead of simulating it on some gizmo in their living room. Yes, I enjoy simulation for a number of reasons and I also fly (private), but my setup is very basic using a yoke and pedals with a single monitor. I love gadgets also, but not as much as flying a real airplane. Hundreds of hours of simulation will never equal one hour of the real thing. ;)
@airste172 And I and other flight simmers are REALLY SIMULATING FLIGHT. We happen to enjoy simulating flight I don't see how anybody can assume the right to say that it's somehow not legitimate enough. I enjoy flying real planes probably just as much as you do my only concern is that I don't think its excusable to look down on what people decide to spend their time doing. I simply don't see the need or effectiveness of judging somebody's passion as a waste of time.
@swa5297 If I'm "looking down" at anyone, it's only because that's the only way I can see them from an actual cockpit at altitude. I have no need or desire to be excused by you or anyone else for what I think or say, PARTICULARLY if I haven't said anything of the sort that you've mentioned.
@airste172, actually that is how I got my start in flying real airplanes. Took a flight in an F-14 flight simulator and got hooked, then bought fsx for the home computer, a couple weeks later started flight training and some 5 months after that earned a private pilot certificate. Simulators are used alot in instrument recurrent training in real life...is much cheaper staying instrument proficient in a simulator than in the real airplane :)
@jmclarke1 I'm hooked on flight sims too. Besides having countless benefits that are useful for real flight, it's a lot of fun. I just hope that those who truly enjoy simulation will not pass up any opportunity to do real flight because no amount of simulation can convey how amazing the real thing is. The funny thing is that my skill level, enjoyment and appreciation for simming grew enormously AFTER I learned how to fly for real. One just seems to help the other in both directions.
i think i have the best pc: windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, nvidia geforce 8600 gt 2 gb ram and suport physx and direct x 10.1 and shrader 4.1, amd athlon x2 64 2.66 ghz, 4,1 gb ram and 1 tb harddrive. :D

Hey Alex, a very nice vid once again.I didn´t know, that there was an event like that in Netherlands, but thanks to your reporting skills I feel like I visited it and enjoyed it.
Dearest Alex, how many of these have been done so far in the Netherlands, and yes maybe next year! Love to catch up with you, and talk nothing but FS & 742's!
Wel my friend,i'am not so shure but i think about 6 or 7'th year already..! And yes with God's will we will be there next year and who knows...with a whole 747-200 cockpit nosesection !!! :-)
Why does all these people use 2D panels? It's the most un-realistic way for flight simulator!
