Just saw Dale at the Broken Spoke in Austin. WoW!!! Played for three hours, no break. Absolutely amazing. Talked to him after the show, was very gracious and down to earth. The man doesn't realize how famous he is.

That's great, I love Dale. I also love the Broken Spoke. Its been quite a while since I lived in Austin, but got down to the Spoke back in September to see my old favorite Alvin Crow. Niel Flanz on steel that evening. Alvin is an Austin Institution.

I just heard Dale will be here at Harrah's Laughlin, NV Friday April 24th starting at 7pm. He is in a beer tent opening for the Charlie Daniels show. I will be playing the after concert party in the beer tent.....Great, Dale and Charlie before me....no pressure.....Lol.  Dale Rocks Ya'll!

@6stringgunslinger the same reason that hank III isnt.. bc all that mess on the radio, and on cmt is all written, licensed and produced in a 3 block radius in downtown nashville. it breeds these pop country "stars" that all look and sound the same. this guy rides off the beaten path like all the real country folks and outlaws. folks like dale watson, waylon jennings and hank III sorta go there own way. thats why they have a devout underground fan base.. its not made for the masses

Nashville needs to bring the "COUNTRY" back to Country music and this guy can do it. A new find for me and am I glad. Makes me want to put on my hats and boots and DANCE with a cowboy that does not have a cell phone hanging from his belt.Unfortuantely hard to find in Hawaii. Listen to that fiddle.

Hi Carol, I saw him play in Holland (7 x), Spain and Texas (10x!) he is soooooooo great!

The guy on the fiddle plays a 5 string Fiddle. His name is Don Raby. Other bandmembers are: steel guitar, Don Don Powlack, Drums, Herb Belofsky, Bass, Gene Kurtz. He has some great CD's and also a live CD / DVD live @ Newland (Holland). Just to good te beleive!

If you want to enjoy good country music, spend some weeks in Austin (Texas) as I did.

I spent a few years in Nashville and had a chance meeting with Dale. I asked for some advice and he said " Get the hell out of Nashville and head to Austin". The best advice I ever got.
