@humphreyman690 Ullirch was a drugs cheat, just like Pantani, Riis, Armstrong, Landis. All of them on EPO. Operacion Puerto seized blood that was DNA sampled proving it was Ullrich"s the blood contined high amounts of EPO.

Yes Jan has his place. He one the tour only once. I remember when he won his only TDF, Phill Liggitt was saying he was the most talented rider, and that he could win the TDF 10 times...yeah right. That did not happen on any level...

@videolover61 Jan was highly talented. Just that he was healthier being more heavier set, and that extra weight takes its toll hard on long mountain stages. He was far better on flats and short steep climbs. Also note Jan started his career as a bunch sprinter. Would've likely had a better career had he sticked to being a sprinter/classics type rider.

Ullrich was awesome, but he did have a tendency to overdo the Bratwurst mit Senf in the off-season, and never lived up to that amazing potential.

Still, maybe he can follow in Lance's footsteps and come back to raise global awareness of German baking concerns, only not talk about it at any time and ignore the press.
