It is one of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen in all my 50 years. This little bear is so cute and nice - sometimes very sad, but also very beautiful too. I was talking to different people all over the globe, but all love this movie.
@Ixtulu So very true. A wonderful achievement to cinema this often overlooked gem is. The bond between the cub and adult grizzly is as strong as any human's love for another. The long and short of it is that bear hunting should be outlawed. Leave the bears alone!!!!!
@TheDarkKnight1983 The Russians made also a bear-movie, but with 2 young bears. It is based on a true story, which happend in Bela-Russia some years go. The "mother-bear" had 2 kids (male and female) After a car accident these 2 kids had to learn, how to survive in the wood. A russian cameraman reported the following year - he said, it unbelieveable, but these 2 kids learned without monther. After 2 years they were big enough to live alone. Russian movie title (2 bear kids alone in the wood)
That song at the end played in the background of most of my nightmares as a kid. D: It's a beautiful song (and a great movie), but that tune always makes me cry, and not in a good way...
Warning! prolonged exposure to the cub in this movie might result in cuteness overload. In case of an emergency, go find a pillow and start hugging it, all the while imagining that it's him.
beautiful movie, but this is such a sad part, when the bear cub loses his mother, and he just lies there next to her, as if he's waiting for her to come back to life/wake up, it makes me cry, poor cub.

This is so sad. :'( It reminds me of the part of the Lion King when Mufasa dies and Simba sits next to his body. I really like this movie so far.

I suppose the reason they didn't have the men kill his mother is because then we wouldn't have forgiven them at the end... but what a tragic accident
