The health care bill is ment to control people. I have always had family health insurance and my parents had health insurance on us kids when we were growing up. There were some hard times, but we got by and took care of our own. I worked hard and made sure my family was taken care. I didn't need the government interfering in my business. i can't believe they actually passed this. this is a major violation of the constitution. in the tenth amendment it provides enumerated powers to the Federal Government, and reserves the rest of governmental powers to the states.
See the "General Welfare Clause" of the constitution. Furthermore, the states effectively gave up any rights or claims to the health care issue when the took no action on it, for oh, I don't know, the past 30+ years. To add one more point, HC is an issue that goes beyond state borders, therefore it goes beyond any one state's jurisdiction. That alone is enough to make it a Federal issue.
The bills individual mandate is not authorized under the General Welfare Clause, which applies only to congressional spending. It applies to money going out from the government; it does not confer or concern any government power to take in money, such as would happen with the individual mandate. Therefore the mandate is outside the scope of the General Welfare Clause.

Well, considering that constitution allows for the congressional body to lay taxes for the general welfare of this nation (ie: take money in, and spend it, or, have it go out) it is well within the confines of the constitution that this HC bill falls. It is funded primarily through tax revenue (money intake) and that money then goes to offset any cost the bill may inflict on the overall deficit (output). I believe there are still some ignorant people out there that don't realize you can not have the best of both worlds and have lower taxes and a lower national debt. Take last year for example 95% of Americans taxes went down and the debt grew a lot higher. Every year we spend more on defense than medicare or medicaid and more Americans die from lack of health care than from terrorist or foreign enemies. Figure it out this is actually a good thing!

The health care bill is ment to control people. I have always had family health insurance and my parents had health insurance on us kids when we were growing up. There were some hard times, but we got by and took care of our own. I worked hard and made sure my family was taken care. I didn't need the government interfering in my business. Do I like that we have to have it, NO, but at least it gives me affordable (I hope) inssurance, unlike the the other insurrance companies who sky rockent their prices. These days, Republicans call it government overreach. Furthermore, the states effectively gave up any rights or claims to the health care issue when the took no action on it, for oh, I don't know, the past 30+ years. To add one more point, HC is an issue that goes beyond state borders, therefore it goes beyond any one state's jurisdiction. That alone is enough to make it a Federal issue.

The bills individual mandate is not authorized under the General Welfare Clause, which applies only to congressional spending. It applies to money going out from the government; it does not confer or concern any government power to take in money, such as would happen with the individual mandate. Therefore the mandate is outside the scope of the General Welfare Clause.

I do believe that the mandate of the bill is in the interest of the general welfare of the people of the United States, which puts it well within the scope of the clause.

Well, considering that constitution allows for the congressional body to lay taxes for the general welfare of this nation (ie: take money in, and spend it, or, have it go out) it is well within the confines of the constitution that this HC bill falls. It is funded primarily through tax revenue (money intake) and that money then goes to offset any cost the bill may inflict on the overall deficit (output). Stand by your words if you must, but I certainly will stand by mine with greater fortitude
