This pisses me off. I've had my ipod touch 4g ever since Christmas. My parents bought me a really great case and everything with it to protect it from cracking. But about 3 weeks later, i drop it from my pocket on the bottom right corner and it cracks my whole screen. (with the ipod case on) They should REALLY make these ipods more protective from cracking. Cause almost every ipod i see, is cracked.

I see a lot of people with the ones that protect just the back and I think it is such a waste of money because the back is not going to break. The front is the most important thing to protect.

Go on ebay and the parts to fix this, even the tools, are altogether less than 15$. It's not hard to do. Do not pay these jerkoffs 100$ for a 15$ fix, it's really easy to do

@roboticunclephil be careful in the cheap parts you find on ebay. Many of them are slightly different enough to cause your part not to fit correctly. Also, make sure that you take your time doing this repair. Obviously it can be done but, if you have NEVER taken one apart before it is not as easy as some people make it seem. Sure you can pay $15 bucks up front but if you really mess it up you will end up paying more in the long run. Just sayin...

@therogix good question. Typically water is very bad with the iPod Touch because of the aluminum back that is on it. However, I would say we can get them back working at 75% of the time.

If you're not a technical person I guess these guys seem fair. But if you are willing to for 32$ on ebay you get the LCD, the digitizer (under the lcd, since they're glued together) and all the tools you need. And there are gazillions of tutorials on youtube.

@Yankees3810 , you can fix it yourself and spend less than $20 for the parts and it comes with tools to help you. There are several how-tos and it's not hard at all.

No offense to the people who work at Smart Phone Medic, just because technology is getting more advanced doesn't mean that so is repair on that technology has become any more complex. However, if you don't follow steps you could ruin the ipod, but I've never had that happen to me.
