Go to Shanghai where the people were too eager for the govt to torn their old houses for development!!! There are so many countries in the world that were affected by "extreme weather" without upheavals. Big earthquakes happened every year in Japan, and US had its own Katrina.

You are too harsh. There is more to the story. Overall the development and dams are good and many live much better because of them. Dams are glorious as they are also renewable energy. Stop being so negative and see the positive too.
