My cousin first introduced me to Metallica when i was 6 years old and Metallica is still my favorite band today. It would be a shame if they stopped performing Metallica are Heavy Metal Gods! Metallica is still pretty good. Lars has really lost it though. He did a long time ago actually. So you can't really say it's because of age. Watch Chris Adler if you want to see one of the more "technical" drummers. He can actually play "live" what he records. I think Lars plays above his ability when they record. Adding Robert Trujillo was a smart move though. Just my opinions.
