I have this laptop and I had motherboard problems due to overheating... Under warranty, Dell replaced the MBoard. Now that my warranty expired, the Mboard shot again. Now I need to get it replaced... But what kind of board is it? Dell doesn't specify. I think this system is expensive and problematic.

i7 quad-core processor, 1.76 - 2.8ghz (turbo)

8gb of DDR3 1333mhz RAM

1gb ATI 5850 mobility

500 gb SATA II 7200 rpm hard-drive

Full HD, 1080p screen

It's coming Tuesday, can't wait.

I've seen alot of people complain that the weight is hard to handle but really.. it's like 10 pounds with the 9 cell battery... 10 pounds... how weak do you have to be to complain about 10 pounds.. i lose 5 pounds when i take a shit...Btw i just got this laptop yesterday and it's fucking sweet.. first time i get a hard on before i actually use the computer..

upgrades it to..

core i7 820qm

gtx 285m

6 gig ram

4x blueray player

500 gig harddrive

and it still costed less than this alienware...lol.

But atleast the lights are really cool on the alienware

Nice video! and nice pics. Too bad the M15X only gets 1 hour and a few minutes of battery life, The area 51 m15x gets about 2 hours on average and with the smart bay it goes up to 5 hours strong!, i like the area 51 m15x a little better than the M15X. But this is a nice video and it has good pics.

@wowwhatapimp with the 9cell battery it can get 2hours of battery life but since this is a gaming laptop you are hooked up to a power cable most of the time... maybe i'm getting mine next month =D

Nice computer but alien ware is a bit of a rip off. Have you cheeked out the asus g73. $1500 core 17 8gb ram 5870 mobile raid hard drives 1080p screen. Any way nice video.

@Virgle144 yeah, but compare that asus to an alienware 17inch with exact same specs, the alienware scores higher even with same specs and that is because of superior build quality and cooling, its over priced, but its making use of all its hardware, also the asus your talking about only offers gddr3 and alienwares offer gddr5 theres over 35-60% preformance increase from gddr3 to gddr5, if you want the best get alienware otherwise buy your cheap shitty asus.

@ClearMagicFTW Yes, it's an awesome PC Laptop. Well.. it's like a desktop PC, and for the online gaming it depend on your internet connection, but the laptop can do that easily. I tried L4D2 (Online) and Unreal2004 (Online), and with the best graphics settings available. In a nutshell, it works perfectly.
