  • What if someone used this to convince a dictator he was talking to God and sway them to do what they want.

  • Hmmm and people wonder why birds fell dead out of the sky and fish floated to shore dead...its cuz of shit like this that were testing out..but if these people could get the technology, why couldnt just about anyone?

  • thats the best practical joke you can pull on all the crazy hobos in NY

  • What if someone bought this technology and aimed it at your house to frighten you into selling a prime piece of real estate? Think about it!

  • That should not be legal

  • welcome in 1984

  • You would think they could have done something a bit better. Like "Im in your head, eating all your soul" or something like that. Just sayin'.

  • Shouldn't this be some sort of FCC violation on the part of the advertiser?

  • Fucking manipulative arseholes. I am disgusted.

  • Couldn't animals freak out or something if they went by? Like a person walking their dog? Btw that would freak the shit out of me if I passed by at night. O_O

  • That would drive someone crazy.

  • FUCK THIS FUCK THIS FUCK THIS FUCK THISFUCK THIS FUCK THISFUCK THIS FUCK THISFUCK THIS FUCK THISFUCK THIS FUCK THISFUCK THIS FUCK THIS NEEDS TO FUJCK OFF

  • Imagine living next to one, that would get annoying.

  • @OIVIG

it doesn't work like that. Think of it more as a sound laser; only people that are walking down that certain stretch of sidewalk can pick up the sound as a whisper. This way it doesn't disturb the residents or workers in the surrounding area.

Definetely check out the BBC Audio Spotlight video under the related videos on this page if you want to find out more! Cool stuff.

  • @XXXbbXXX Ah yeah read that after i posted this

  • I bet that sure as hell doesn't get annoying the 5 times you'd have to hear it when you walk past it.

  • Hopefully they shut that speaker off at night. If you were walking by yourself at night and you heard that, that'd be creepy as fuck dude!!

  • WTF man that's just retarded creepy. Talk about invading a persons space.

  • Imagine someone needing to work there in the streets (a hot dog vendor or something)...

  • That's awesome. Oh god, what a way to freak people out lmao. Wish we had more of those, my life's boring :/

  • Can you imagine having to work outside around that all day?

  • Invasion of privacy? A health hazard? Should be illegal? What are you people, nuts? It's the equivalent of a car driving by honking at someone; are you going to demand the prohibition of honking now? Sure, the advertisement might be lame or annoying but to take it to that ridiculous degree is just dumb.

  • How does this not constitute some sort of health hazard? Some poor woman is going to have a heart attack.

  • Can you say INVASION OF PRIVACY, then again, what's privacy in the information age, if you could even call it that

  • Somebody please throw a rock through that fucking speaker.

  • someone shoot that fucking speaker

  • I hope everyone who works or lives in that building is being compensated for the repetition & sleepless nights.

  • This is the biggest load of bullshit ever..if I am exposed to this ad, I will go out of my way to make sure everyone I know does not watch whatever shit you're advertising here.

  • Ok, no. NO. There's a line when it comes to advertisement, and they've crossed it.

  • @wolfywox According to Cracked, there are 4 even worse types of billboards than ones that talk to you.

  • @LikaLaruku Yeah, but this one is the most disturbing and has the most potential to fuck with someone's head. God help all the schizophrenics that walked by this thing.

  • Anybody else think this kind of publicity is invasive to the point of being violatory?

This is douchbaggery and I can't see it otherwise.

  • you could have focused more on the people reacting to this

  • I feel sorry for all the people who live in that building.

  • This CRACKED me up.

  • How many kids you think were disturbed sufficiently? I'm betting at least 20. Good job demon lords.

  • Thumbs up is CRACKED sent you here!

  • Huh, now that's impressive, I must say. And hilarious. Imagine people watching and seeing dudes freak out from hearing whispers.

  • winning!!

  • I can imagine the poor person who wasn't aware of the advertisement and speakers, they're only visiting NYC... And then they hear this.

I'm sure they flipped their shit backwards.

  • Not sure if real

  • 99.891 views...someone is going to hit the jackpot soon. Also, cracked.com :)

  • Wow... some people are complete candy asses to think its a fucked up advertisement. This is actually pretty damn cool provided it be the right ad, such as this scary one!

  • 0__o

  • I hear voices telling me to destroy that fucking billboard and the creepy assholes who came up with an idea like this.....Was that part of the ad?

  • God forbid 5 minutes could pass without having some advertisement intrude upon your senses I mean it wouldn’t be so bad but now there everywhere and there getting louder and more intrusive to compete with all the other loud and intrusive ads out there already.

  • ring ring ring ring ring ring ring, banana phone

  • Yep....totally fuckin creepy. how is this not illegal? This only makes me NOT want to see their stupid ass show.

  • Advertisements are annoying enough, I don't need them whispering to me on the street 0_o

  • this is the most fucked up way to advertise they should make this illegal

  • @aFartingButt That was my first thought! If they don't care about my personal space and make a point to invade it, I don't care about their personal property and I'm going to make a point to destroy it. Now where did I put my spray paint, hammer, and climbing shoes...

  • It's pretty scary. how much in future? Maybe Ads will take over your mind.

  • How can this be legal? I'm sure this is an invasion of privacy.

  • that should not be legal....

  • The voices sound like the turrets from Portal.

  • That's fucking creepy

  • why dont we use this technology and hit a few Iraqi's and pretend to be Muhammed and tell them to throw down there Arms and be peaceful. Then nobody has to die anymore? What you think?

  • This is just a government experiment in preparation for project Blue Beam in 2012. If you go to blueblastmedia's website, you'll see it's just a big logo with a telephone number. It's a fake company created by the government to perform this test.

  • Don't the people in the apartment buildings hear it? And if so...wouldnt they get pissed?

  • @jpenny18 they don't, the tech projects a bubble of sound -or a dome- if u will and outside that area the sound gets canceled out by phase reversal and, essentially, when 1 antenna sends a positive wave the other sends a negative wave and when they meet or cross the pos wave neutralizes the neg wave

  • @E81XvaMn12X1P829 That's clever. I like that kind of advertising but it would scare the crap out of me if it was night time. They'd be really careful about it not hitting the road though wouldnt they? Coz if someone driving a car somehow managed to drive through the spot it would likely cause a car crash lol.

  • @jpenny18

You "llike" this kind of advertising? That's creepier than what is going on in this video and that is saying a lot.

  • Oh My God! it's started!!!

  • Somebody is going to fucking jump into traffic and kill themselves at that corner.

  • that's so cool!!

  • This is an advertising company. The techonology is pretty cool... although I wonder how muich it crosses the thresh of subliminal messages....

  • This is not just for A&E. Target uses it, some random company I have never heard of and there are also "audio wildpostings" for Mariah Carey and some stinkfume she is pushing. Check out BlueBlastMedia on here. I will not buy a product one they advertise this way.

  • I for one hope this does not come to Kansas. I stopped watching television for certain reasons and being advertised to was one of them. I want to make my own choices and the thought of things being beamed at my head makes me uncomfortable, no matter how nifty the gimmick is. If people are not watching or buying, then more than likely the show or product is worthless to begin with...

  • I really can't see this lasting very long, as soon as it catches on, as always some people will do what they can to get rid of it. I mean, this is a nuisance, we need to petition this crap. Who on

Earth wants to be annoyed by ads that are funded by thier revenue from OUR MONEY?

  • great job A&E

  • nice job, very cool!

  • That's pretty genius.

  • Makes you wonder if people are really schizo or do they really see and hear things we can't?

  • very, very, cool....and to those of you who out there who find this "invasive", get ready for more....you wouldnt believe what the ad agencies have in store

  • Call me stupid but I don't get this - what is the point it's making?

  • Good question. I guess the answer depends on what you mean by "point". What does this say about the product? Nothing. This technology, should it stay legal, will be used MUCH more effectively when placed in better hands. If the "copy" made a clear statement about the product, in a way that accounted for locality and how consumers interact with it, this billboard would be much more effective. Still, the novelty of this "new" technology will- in my opinion- inspire some people to act.

  • I guess it's just an Ad campaign that's trying to fuck with people.

  • Theyre obviously not content to bombard us with so much visual advertising that we are becoming overloaded, now it seems they want to take over our ears as well. Arent we already being saturated by noise when we're out & about? At least with visual advertising we have some degree of choice. I'll be using an mp3 player to hopefully block out this unwelcome garbage. Holosonic technology can be handy for things that we want to listen to i.e home stereo equipment. This is just auditory assault

  • AW!

  • Woo I wish they had more billboards like this, that would be so much fun to walk down the street. =D

  • Oh god, what a horrible thing to do to all the homeless schizophrenics in NYC!!

  • haha.. good point.

  • Hahha that's exactly what I thought!

  • @spershall LOL

  • thats freakin awesome. ahahaha. but i'd probably be freaked if i heard that, then i'd ask my friends and they'd be like..WTF?

  • Yeah Tell Me About It!

  • Can you imagine the fun you could have on Halloween? (Or also some punk teens hanging around waiting for a mark or selling drugs?)

Five years ago these were ~$2K, it's too bad the media does not make this more well known as jerks (or Capis[i]) to could use it to take people out of circulation. (ie. we 'disloyal' Americans that do not like donating our children's blood for their profitability.)

[i]Capi=Ruthless Capitalist that operates more like a Capo.

  • ur just a fuck retard selling drugs help the ecom b/c then all the big drug dealer go buy new cars

  • I bet someone didn't notice the speakers and now thinks they're crazy, they go to a psychologist and start saying "I'm hearing voices now"

    LMFAO.

  • thats freaky as hell

  • sry but what the hell is so creepy

  • its because the sound is directed to you, someone could be standing right next to you and not hear it, could be a bit annoying if this takes off in the future mind

  • Imagine if you did not see the banner and were just walking by and heard that? I'd jump out of my skin, lol. Pretty cool use of technology, though.

  • WOW that would be creepy, cool but still creepy

  • hohohoho very creepy if you are on the way xD

very cool invention ... only the people who pass in that way, and in that spot, can hear the lady speeking =O very cool
